Showtime/CBS likely gets the main package, with ESPN (Saturday Night Fights), SpikeTV(FNLO), and FS1(Toe-to-Toe Tusedays) getting their own content deals. My guess anyway

With the TV ratings basically being the same, and Ward's profile in the sport ****ting on Golovkin's profile in the sport, the split was just fine.
      The ticket prices for Ward-barrera were : $300, $150, $100, $50 and $25

      The ticket prices for Golovkin-Wade were: $400, $300, $200, $100, $60 and $30

Considering they are practically similar ticket prices and Golovkin is destroying Ward in attendance, in California btw which is beyond embarrassing, lets you know who is who.

Plus these current ratings pretty much confirm that.

I wish boxing could do 3 million on non casinos. Ufc and boxing stay in Vegas for a reason.

          • Is there any info on the rating including the viewers without a HBO subscription?

Showtime, CBS, CBS Sports and Spike TV are all owned by the same company. I think Haymon should target them and if he gets a 5 year deal worth 60 million a year that's 300 million. It's best for boxing if it works out.

Sports TV ratings is reporting 1.325M. I apologize for the misinformation. Great rating for Golovkin.

Golovkin is willing to be the B-Side to get big fights. He was willing to be the B-Side to Froch, Canelo and even Chavez, willing to even go to Forch's hometown. Just to get the fights.

When has Ward ever considered surrendering anything to make a big fight?

He didn't want to fight Bute, the biggest name in the division in 2011, because he didn't 'prove himself'.

Then he demanded Golovkin move up to 168 and take a 50/50 split with him.

What I see is one guy willing to do what it takes to get big fights, the other guy is basically being a Diva.

And to celebrate boxing’s return to the Forum, any $150 or $75 ticket, purchased at the box office or via Ticketmaster on April 1, between Noon and 4:00 p.m. PT, will include a complimentary companion ticket to the inaugural brawl. Limit six (6) tickets per order. - See more at: http://www.toprank.com/news/boxing-p....uyIQ35Bb.dpuf
Marquez is a really good fighter, but he's never been a draw, and HBO has never felt the urge to push him as a star/draw. You add that Marquez-Alvarado, for whatever reason, was priced $400/$250/$150/$75/$35 (with the folks buying those mid-tier tickets getting the option to help fill the building in), and it's not a shock that the turnout wasn't great.

On top of all of that, Golovkin-Wade($400/$300/$200/$100/$60/$30) and Golovkin-Monroe($300/$200/$100/$60/$30) were both at price points below Marquez-Alvarado was.
