So do #1 and #2 now reverse?

Arroyo was extremely competitive with one of the guys who RG is supposedly avoiding in Roenroeng. He's tough, strong, with a big punch and was also an Am world champion once upon a time. Easily enough to be considered a solid win.
Viloria is past prime clearly, but not enough to discount the win completely. He still looked decent in the RG fight with good speed, power and technique. He hadnt beaten anyone good in 3 years, but then neither had Hopkins (please dont bring up Shumenov). Again, clearly a solid win. Yet people discount this one and name Hopkins as some great win on Kovalevs resume?
Not buying it. You are right about double standards, but its coming from the other side imoComment

Lol. Lampley tried again at the close of last night's telecast. Luckily Max was a voice of reason.
Jim Lampley: Alright, thanks very much Roy. Max Kellerman joins us now. Did the pound for pound discussion just get even hotter?
Max Kellerman: Triple G still hasn't fought anyone, that's the problem. And it's going to be tough for him to get to #1 not having fought anyone.Comment

Lampley just doesn't even attempt to sound credible when he is talking about boxing lolLol. Lampley tried again at the close of last night's telecast. Luckily Max was a voice of reason.

War Daggum #1 fact posterit should be ward. everyone knows 12 boring compettitive roudns with an unraked fighter are better than ko'ing him in 2 or going the distance with a guy who easyly could be at the top of the division if not for a dubious decision. if the decision went arroyo's way he's a top fighter but since it didn't he's a bum lol. what a turn aroudComment

Rigo and Ward I understand because of activity. They haven't beaten anyone worth a damn in years. Gonzalez at least should be ahead of them. Whether they rank ahead of Manny depends on whether he is actually retired.
Kovalev is my p4p #1 right now, though. I sure as hell would never rank Golovkin above him.Comment

Where is my double standards..Arroyo was extremely competitive with one of the guys who RG is supposedly avoiding in Roenroeng. He's tough, strong, with a big punch and was also an Am world champion once upon a time. Easily enough to be considered a solid win.

Viloria hadn't a major win in about 5 years... Hopkins was a unified champ.. Double standard would be discounting hopkins, yet hyping yagaisha and francisco, and viloria...
Arroyo tough as nails, but nothing special, but a solid win, but shouldn't justify being p4p#1 opponent.. Had floyd fought ruslan, you guys would be screaming bloody murder, but let roman fight arroyo, and its cool.. Thats a double standard.
There is no clear p4p#1 guy... roman, rigo, ward, kovolev, manny, golovkin make up the top 6 guys clearly, but to say roman is clearly better than all of them is absurdComment

I think last night reinforced Roman's P4P standing, because Arroyo was a very good fighter, with excellent pedigree and skills.. and Roman beat him handily.
Wade should not have done anything for Golovkin's P4P reputation. He beat a mandatory from the worst alphabet group. Unless he knocked him over with 1 slap, Golovkin had nothing to win in that fight.
Personally, I'd put Pac after Roman. Bradley/Pac was a legitimate fight between top3 fighters. Yeah, Pac's retiring, and yeah, he already beat Bradley before.. but it was still impressive to get on my P4P list.Comment

It's odd how HBO pushes ggg so much harder than Kov whe he's beat way better fighters than golovkin. Makes no sense not like he's a showtime guyRigo and Ward I understand because of activity. They haven't beaten anyone worth a damn in years. Gonzalez at least should be ahead of them. Whether they rank ahead of Manny depends on whether he is actually retired.
