he just beat the lineal champ at 112 a year and ah ago wtf? that same guy just became a 3 division champ after losing to roman. just because you aren't familiar with these guys doesn't mean they suck. and since beating yaegashi roman has beaten 2 guys ranked #3 and arroyo who was top 10 and easily could have been top 2 or 3 if he had gotten the debatable decision to ruenroeng.

how is his resume not better? i just listed all his good wins. just cmopare them to other guys liek ward, kovalev, canelo, ggg, rigo and its clearly more. did they get as much press? no but that doesn't mean they didn't happen. these weren't charles martin type guys he was beating. they were established fighters with quality resumes.

Kovalev having great resume is a myth imo.

Once you accept the fact that Hopkins was well past it (like I did before the fight), his resume is very shallow.

Pascal is a good solid win at the tail end of his career. Cleverly hasnt achieved anything before or since, but he wqs a title holder so credit for that. Campillo was ok. Then Mohammedi, Sillakh, Agnew, Capparello are fringe contenders at best.

Kov looks great, dont get me wrong, but lets not act like he has demolished a murderers row

One man beat a fighter that's ranked top ten by the Ring and TBRB, while the other man fought a gross mismatch. Wade isn't ranked in ****. Arroyo got jobbed in Thailand a year and a half ago, or he'd be ranked top five across the board. Wilder knocks out cans, why isn't he in the discussion?

GGG doesn't only knock out cans, but also many Ring top tenners, and some he defeats even before entering the ring. Prime example Canelo

yeah the only real difference between kovalev and GGG's resume is that some people were fool enough to underestimate kovalev prior to the cleverly, hopkins and pascal fights, making the wins seem more significant

they've both fought who they could while being ****blocked out of the big fights by ducking and politics

Why because GGG knocked out a 55-1 underdog?

I always felt Kovalev should be ahead of them. The problem for Kovalev is there are other fighters in his division that he needs to fight to prove he's the best, so it's more difficult to look dominant over a division, even though he's beaten better fighters than GGG and Gonzalez have.

Ward shouldn't be anywhere near p4p yet. In terms of skills he might be but you have to put that into practice regularly and beat decent fighters. You can't base it on what he did almost half a decade ago otherwise we would put someone like Mosley in there cos he was in there around 2010 and just won his last fight, but that would be ridiculous wouldn't it? then the same should apply to Ward at this moment in time.

How about we all stop being fanboys like Lampley and admit that p4p #1 is basically vacant right now?

Nobody has really separated themselves from the pack. If you put a gun to my head I would say Chocolatito because he's demolished top fighters in different weight classes.
