Arroyo tough as nails, but nothing special, but a solid win, but shouldn't justify being p4p#1 opponent.. Had floyd fought ruslan, you guys would be screaming bloody murder, but let roman fight arroyo, and its cool.. Thats a double standard.

There is no clear p4p#1 guy... roman, rigo, ward, kovolev, manny, golovkin make up the top 6 guys clearly, but to say roman is clearly better than all of them is absurd
Viloria TKO'd MArquez in 2012, almost exactly 3 years before Gonzalez beat him. Hopkins beat Pascal in 2011 3 years before Kov beat him. Both lost in the mean time, and neither had any good wins before they lost again.

I dont see anyone discounting Hopkins win, its one of Kovalevs few good ones, but its not exactly a great win is it? Definitely not that much better than Viloria, who isnt one of Gonzalez' top tier of wins.

I agree there is no one clear at the top. But some of you guys seem to be saying its impossible for RG to be no.1, and then use reasoning that you could apply to any of the top guys (even more so for most of them).

I was honestly amazed at how many were giving Hopkins a chance in the Kovalev fight.

It's all about the ratings. Kovalev has real competition in his division and could possibly lose. GGG has nothing but cans to crush, and HBO can push the narrative that he can't be beat. They've been in this business for a while and know how to build fan bases.

How many times has Ward and Kovalev been knockdown? and by what caliber opponent? now how many times has Roman Gonzalez been on the floor? I'll wait.

i thought kovolev would handle him, but not like that,,, it was total domination.

Nobody has ever dominated hopkins that bad...

I think a lot of people thought kovolev was tailor made for hopkins like tarver, tito, pavlik, etc... But in reality, hopkins just didn't have enough firepower to keep kovolev at bay
