        No.

Chocolatito just added a solid name to his resume, while GGG ko'd a fighter who i had literally never heard of before he signed to fight GGG.

        Kovalev didnt even fight.

The Fight Game is ****ing awful.

The winner of Kov vs Ward will be p4p no.1, barring a crappy conclusion to the fight

I've considered GGG #1 since Cotto loss to Canelo. I did the same thing at 175, but idr when I bumped Kovalev up to #1 over Stevenson.

In this era of marinating fights & guys fighting subpar opponents for long periods of time I believe lineal means less then it ever has & sometimes you should drop a guy from the #1 spot without him losing or bump a guy to #1 if the old #1 loses to someone else.

You have to view the broader picture, cant view resumes alone, but the way you beat other fighters, on what level, etc. Kovalev, Gonzales and GGG should be top 3. Manny is retired. No one comes close to these people. If Ward beats Kovalev you can put him on top, but not after doing basically nothing in 3 years.

Well you can blame this all on Wladimir Klitschko.

Wlad was in the #2-3 spot for years and when Floyd retired and Manny dropped down the ranks it was pretty obvious Wladimir would be the new #1.

But the idea of having a heavyweight, and one widely disliked in the US atop a p4p list mostly Americans pay attention to wasn't gonna fly. Wlad is essentially why the p4p list came back into fashion in the first place and for him to be #1 would have been rather comical.

Without explanation they dropped Wladimir to #6. (This is all before the Fury loss).

After that they just kind of filled in the blanks and Roman shooting to no 1, Gennady up a couple spots, etc.

p4p lists always have been and always will be thinly veiled advertisements. The best boxers in the world are the heavyweight/cruiserweight/light heavyweight champions. Period.

You will never have a "p4p" list anyone agrees on because the idea of a 130 pound world champion boxer being "better" than a 240 world champion boxer is pure fantasy to begin with.

No, winner of Ward - Kovalev is clearly #1.

GGG is chasing a guy Floyd already 12-0'd to be his only good win and Roman is ducking an Estrada rematch to fight nobodies as Golovkin's lil sidekick. HBO hype machine in full effect.

roman hasn't beaten any live bodies since 2012, and really don't see how his resume is so much better than other p4p guys
