You are forgetting that Cotto paid GGG nearly $1million to keep hold of the WBC belt so he could get the champions share of the purse in his negotiations with Canelo and have the fight billed and sold as a WBC title fight.
He only ditched the belt on the eve of the fight when he couldn't get any more benifit from holding it.
That's why he is currently being sued by Canelo and GBP.
Duva calling for an immediate purse bid on Fury vs Glazkov left Fury with no choice over whether he kept the IBF belt or not.
Of course people still want to watch the return between him and Wlad. The result of the first fight was a huge upset and there are still 2 championship belts on the line. Three, if you count the Ring lineal.
Bold faced, fhuking lie. Biggest lie of the thread, you sir deserve some sort of medal. Cotto agreed to pay GGG 800k to step aside, the WBC wanted an additional 300k for sanctioning fees, Cotto said he'd only pay 150k, WBC waited untill the day before the fight to tell Cotto they wouldn't accept the 150k thinking Cotto would panic and pay the full 300k. Cotto said no, the WBC stripped him, so he also did not pay the step aside to GGG. GBP tried to force Cotto to re negotiate, but since the belt was still available for Canelo to win, there were no grounds to re negotiate.

I guess we'll have to see how it all plays out but I think if Canelo refuses to fight Golovkin it will hurt his career, it looks bad on him and he's never going to hear the end of it, everywhere he goes he's going to hear about Golovkin, it might even start ****ing with his head if it isn't already.Comment

it didnt happen then because the WBC had already sanctioned the Cotto-Canelo fight as a WBC title fight, so if they removed the sanction they likely would have had a legal challenge from Golden Boy......
and GGG had no input because he had already accepted the $800k step-aside deal from Cotto......
case closed !

If Canelo wants to come in at 155, fine.
154.1 to 160 is MW.
If 155 isn't MW, how does he have a belt?Comment

Well, one of us aint.
That is why you ignored my question.
Because he had the balls to negotiate and the skill to beat another JMW who weighed 153
Canelo is an entitled JMW who has never fought.....
* A middleweight
* AT middleweight
Canelo is obviously an unprofessional JMW who can easily make 154, as proven by his 30-day weigh-in.
155 is 1lb over the JMW limit ffs, get a grip.
You can label him whatever you like, but that won't make it so..... just like me calling you a rocket scientist, won't make it so.Comment
