He only ditched the belt on the eve of the fight when he couldn't get any more benifit from holding it.

That's why he is currently being sued by Canelo and GBP.

Duva calling for an immediate purse bid on Fury vs Glazkov left Fury with no choice over whether he kept the IBF belt or not.

Of course people still want to watch the return between him and Wlad. The result of the first fight was a huge upset and there are still 2 championship belts on the line. Three, if you count the Ring lineal.
    April 20, 2016:

Promoter Oscar De La Hoya says he's not entirely on board with the WBC's mandate that Canelo Alvarez face Gennady Golovkin next should both men win their next respective bouts. In fact, he's just stated that a rematch with Miguel Cotto may be another route for them to take...

Oscar De La Hoya has been doing his best to dance around questions about Canelo facing Golovkin in his next outing, but his reservations about the fight ring loud and clear.

even most important, why didnt GGG had to say anything about it???
it didnt happen then because the WBC had already sanctioned the Cotto-Canelo fight as a WBC title fight, so if they removed the sanction they likely would have had a legal challenge from Golden Boy......

and GGG had no input because he had already accepted the $800k step-aside deal from Cotto......

Golovkin is Canelos biggest money fight but he doesn't want to fight him, I don't expect the fight to happen but I do get a few laughs every day I come on here and see an article with Canelo or somebody from Golden Boy making all of these excuses trying to avoid the fight, it makes Canelo look worse by the day.

Canelo looks worse now than he would if he got his ass beat by Golovkin, at least people would respect that.
Floyd is and probably will always be Canelo's big fight so he can afford to miss the golovkin payday. Hell throw him in with any Mexican around the weight and all of mexico will watch. He's fine without golovkin is what I'm trying to say. Golovkin on the other hand is on the wrong side of 30 damn near the wrong side of 35. He doesn't have the time so he NEEDS canelo.

Are you trying to say Mayweather is his biggest fight to date or the biggest fight he can make now aside from Golovkin? When I was talking about the biggest fight for Canelo, I was talking about the biggest fight he can make now, not the biggest fight hes had in the past.

Sure he can fight unknown Mexicans around his weight and get paid to do it but that's not fighting big fights is it? Golovkin and Canelo will both continue to make money whether they fight each other or not but the biggest fight for Canelo right now is Golovkin. I'm not sure why people think Golovkin will starve without Canelo, its just not the case.

Hint: I know you're a bit slow, but here's a tip: Every fight has its own set of negotiations based on the leverage of the individual parties. What was offered to fighter A might not necessarily be offered to fighter B.

Its not all that complicated, even to someone "special" like yourself......
Yet the chorus is always the same with GGG you b1tch ass f@gg0t. He b1tches about nobody will fight him. Then he fights a bum. Its the same **** over and over and over again and the **** is old. He's in no position to negotiate a gotdamn thing with Canelo. So either do what gotta do to get the fight. Or STFU and move on. I would think THAT was be simple to understand. May be a lil tough with GGG's d1ck shoved down your throat though b1tch.

The bold is what I was saying. And I agree that ggg is the biggest fight he can make, it won't make him much more than he is getting for Khan, while golovkin won't have a major fight or a 2 million+ purse at all (not starving but not living up to potential)
