Kovalev needs a fill-in fight before Ward, this sounds perfect. I would even prefer it to Ward/Kovalev, so long as the winner fights Ward next.

Stevenson managed to fail making fights with pascal, Hopkins, and Kovalev. While Kovalev fought pascal twice, Hopkins, and is signed to fight Ward. Only a fool would think Kovalev is the one avoiding it..
