It's easy to see why, Jacobs is just starting to get his name back. GGG would make him look like Lemieux.

He said he wanted 6 million like Quillin, that's not fair money.

Fair money is within what the fight can make, while also giving the bigger purse to the real champ.

Jacobs, like Quillin, and Suanders, have priced themselves out by asking for way more than the fact will make.

Has GGG been offered a MW fight at 158. B-hop got his that way.

But difference was, B-hop was actually fighting smaller guys. De la Hoya had a MW fight, but he stepped into ring much smaller than b-hop. Same with Trinidad.

Canelo is a MW easy, there is zero reason or need for the CW except for the weaker Canelo to try to take some power away from the stronger GGG.

CW should be used when a JRMW fights a MW, or SMW.

When two MW champs who both step in the ring around 170 something, Canelo a tad bit more than GGG, no CW is needed.
Is saying GGGs name the new requirement to get a fight?

Is that the new standard? Just let me know so i can give you a list of fighters that have. That is until you change the goal post again.

And like ive said before, although Loeffler has said jacobs is the next big fight, he has yet to make an offer. Loeffler wont offer any money so we really dont know what fair money really is, do we?

Hiw do you find out whats fair money? Thats right, you negotiate.

Give a list of fighters who have actually sent an offer when GGG was available. All this twitter fingers schit, really doesn't get it done. What gets it done, is sending an offer when the man isn't getting ready to fight someone else.

So who is on the list?

If it was good enough for Hagler and Hopkins to do that, why isn't it good enough for GGG?

I disagree, which is normal, tbh; from the way that K2 has handled their business, I have no doubt that they likely vacate the WBA belt ("we're now targeting a much more meaningful fight, rather than slog through an unnecessary title defense", etc).

Jacobs is starting to build himself into something special at Barclays Center in NYC; he's unlikely to go out of his way, but he's not in the position to run from anything.

Unlikely unless he's on the juice. He's already 35 or 36 years old? This is the age where you're supposed to be on your way out.

              Did you read his post?

He said all you have to do is say GGGs name in an interview; hence, why Jacobs hasnt been nominated as an opponent because Jacobs hasnt called GGG out in an interview even though Jacobs said over a year ago that all he wanted was fair money.

And to thise that say jacobs priced himself out, umm no. Jacobs trainer did an interview and said off the top of his head, 3-5 mil was adequate. If its not, thats why ypu bring a price to the table and you know... negotiate

The continued story being pushed (quieted when Andre Ward finally stepped back into fighting, calling him "lil G" and going on national TV to let sports fans know that Golovkin never really wanted that work; with Ward fully moved on, folks are starting to get brave again) is that no one on the planet wants to fight Golovkin, and that's simply not the truth.

The fact that the original story that we're now commenting on is trying to lay out the path for a Errol Spence fight at middleweight being Golovkin's big showdown is a bit rich.

I'm not saying the outcome is a foregone conclusion; I'm just trying to say that there are a handful of middleweight fights, where Golovkin would be in rougher than he's ever been, that Golovkin/K2 have found a way to get the boxing media to have the fans believe are non-options, for a guy that they continue to try to sell as some super-avoided fighter.

Ward is a chump, who only sent an "offer" after he knew GGG was already committed to the Lemieux fight, and he knew full well K2 wouldnt entertain the okey-doke offer of "50-50 sometime late next year....maybe".

Its real easy to send offers you know cant be accepted.......

I mean right now its plausible GGG's resume COULD have had Felix Sturm, Sergio Martinez, Julio Cesar Chavez (back when he still had hype), Carl Froch, Miguel Cotto & Saul Alvarez on it. Maybe others who I'm forgetting. Problem has been none of those guys, who all had the power or still do have the power to make a fight with GGG, seemed to have THAT much interest in fighting GGG. For as much as some fans can argue GGG doesn't want those fights I believe there to be more evidence to suggest the other guy didn't want it much more.

And I know there is a juice being worth the squeeze angle for the A side in these situations, & GGG is the B side all day every day to all of them til he beats one of them, but cmon none of these guys have ultimately wanted to fight GGG enough over all these years. Even with his blooming popularity that is certainly bigger than many opponents these guys have chosen to fight. Thats something thats very interesting regardless if you think GGG is a future GOAT or a bum one big fight from being exposed.
Golovkin could've fought a guy like Lara or N'Dam (rugged guys who, though not likely to help him sell many tickets, would actually build Golovkin's rep) and made himself a more marketable option (and easier fr the other names to avoid). Outside of the HBO hype machine, the boxing public can't really push Golovkin as "the next big thing" because no one knows how good Golovkin actually is.

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, after starting to really get the hype behind him, set about taking the tough fights needed to undergird the resume of a superstar fighter. Alvarez was supposed to fight Paul Williams(accident) and Victor Cruz(quit when Josesito wrecked his face), before he was finally able to step in with Austin Trout. You look at the ledger, and you would've given any 154 fighter the chance to be a star.

Golovkin needs to put some kind of steak to his sizzle.
