Canelo is no Mexican icon...Golovkin only has one fight at 160 vs Jacobs. I think all his fights are at 168...Golovkin vs DeGale or Ramirez would be good fights.Comment

... after the WBC hands Golovkin their 160 belt, the WBA (in their push towards consolidating their champions) will likely mandate Golovkin to fight Daniel Jacobs, another fight in a long string of fights that the boxing public seems happy to give Golovkin a pass on.
In Jacobs, Golovkin would face a 29 year old, big framed (6'1"), fast-twitch middleweight, relatively proven at the weight class, switch hitter, with pop in both hands.
Hilraious to see folks continue to act like there's no one their for Golovkin to fight (Erroll Spence Jr is just breaking into the top crust of fighters at 147, yet this author is already trying to project him up a full two weight classes, lol)
But yea... GGG is scared from Jacobs. Sure, buddy!Comment

I hope that since HBO is televising a Haymon fighter with GGG on Saturday, that maybe they can make a fight with Jacobs. I'm not sure if Jacobs has a contract with Showtime, if he does, then "that sucks!" HBO is also letting Khan on HBO with Canelo, so we'll have to see what this new HBO exec. is all about!Comment

There should be more clamor for actual name mws to fight Golovkin.
Canelo - say no more
Jacobs - most obvious capable challenger
Quillen - if he isn't retired
Eubank
Saunders -
Russian guy whose name I forgot - up and comer
N'Dam - ok dodgy chin but he is a frickin jack'n-a-box that won't stay downComment

Lloefer said a fight against Jacobs in NY would be huge.
Jacobs called out BJS, and BJS seems to be interested in Jacobs... http://www.boxingscene.com/saunders-...ur-ass--102850
Shame he doesn't say the same to Golovkin. They don't want any of Golovkin, and you know it.Last edited by _Maxi; 04-20-2016, 11:20 AM.Comment

Flat straight answer is "NO" i'm not and I have said that from when the first time Floyd's name came up. There are divisions for a reason, I am an avid pusher of the ideal that "there is such a thing as too much man" to stand across from in a ring.Comment

Hagler was a proven great before Duran.
And i wont even talk about the concessions Hagler made over the course of his career to get fights.Comment
