this fight is dangerous for both fighters but it seems the Kovalev die hards think that its gonna be a cake walk and Ward is some no name scrub

dude hasnt lost since he was 13-14 and Im sure he doesnt plan on losing soon.

they act like soon as Kov breathes on him he is gonna roll over and pack it in

this is a fight that is no worse than 60-40 for either guy

Its obvious they dont watch much boxing because they dont access either guys strengths or weaknesses they just say he will murder ward...ok but how

      ^This right here.

The Kovalev crowd only seem to know what punching power is about and are clueless where boxing is concerned. They don't realize that punching power is *useless* if you can't find the target. Statistically, Ward's defense is second only to Mayweather's. How many really defensively responsible guys has Kovalev seen in his career? I suspect Kovalev will spend the night mostly keeping his hands at home when Ward makes him miss and eat hard counters - something which Kovalev isn't accustomed to seeing...

If Ward overcompensated for size differential vs Barrera (and didn't truly phase him with power) is this a sign that he won't hold up in deeper waters?
Ward has never been particularly hard to hit but he carries a good chin and is always in a position to stifle his opponents work, so the punches never have enough leverage on them. Ward is a defensive fighter in the Hopkins mold, not the Whitaker mold.

Can Kovs power hurt him? Yes. Can he hit him consistently enough without getting stifled in forearms, elbows and shoulders? We'll see.

Gotta stop living off that Super Six. **** was started nearly a decade ago.

Bottom line is this. The connect percentage doesn't mean schit when Kovalev doesn't even go a full 12 when Andre does.

Hopkins struggled beating Karo Murat back in '13 (Barrera destroyed him), B-Hop was on the decline years before even fighting Kov. Ward would school Hopkins. He left Hopkins, Pascal, Kessler, Froch etc. all in the dust YEARS ago when they were actually closer or in their primes.

Be real, fighting Hopkins or Pascal would be taking a step backwards, it'd do nothing for his resume.

Btw, I wouldn't doubt Ward's ability to hurt Kovalev.

He's actually one of the hardest hitters Kovalev has ever faced lol.

Ward's 52% ko rate is higher than Hopkins, Pascal, Caparello, Agnew, Cleverly, Campillo etc.

The only guys with a higher KO% that Kov. has faced was Mohamedi & Sillakh, however both guys have glass chins.

Kov. was bothered a bit by Hopkins/Pascal's power when they were able to land, Ward will do so consistently & cleanly.

Hopkins would be the best opponent ward has faced ever. Don't kid yourself.

Kovalev isnt even a one punch hitter, couldnt even knockout Hopkins yet he is gonna ko a slicker faster, stronger more active Ward? in your dreams, keep praying.

Hopkins is an old as man who specializes in beat come forward types.

Everytime he faced a skilled fighter with superior athleticism, he lost.....Roy Jones, Calzaghe, Taylor, Dawson, Kovalev etc....dont forget I said skilled. Pascal is a good fighter but his defense is porous and he didnt use basic fundamentals

Ward at this point as WAAAAAAAY better than Hopkins, who is wily and skilled but he doesnt have any power at 175, he doesnt throw many punches, and he isnt even as slick as he was 5 years ago

lay off the meth man....Ward would kick the crap out of Popkins and is a better opponent for Kovalev and would mean more to his legacy

when Ward wins, and you think so little of him that he isnt even good enough to beat Hopkins, I dont want to hear any excuses when he out right beats Kovalev
You have 3 dildos under your name, that alone speaks for idiocy.

Ward uds bums, Kovalev knocks them out. Interesting point you have there. N wonder you have a red bar.

Hopkins struggled beating Karo Murat in '13, the same Murat that Ward wanted a tuneup against & got bashed on NSB for it lmao.

You don't go from struggling with Karo Murat to beating Ward 2 years later, especially when you're already on the decline from being in your late 40's.

Barrera is a much better W than either Hopkins or Pascal, he's better & more dangerous than anyone Kov. has fought & he was merely a tuneup for Ward.
