That was ALMOST 2 years ago saying the winner of the Canelo/Cotto fight will either fight us or vacate. That didn't happen because the GGG camp first allowed Cotto to fight not one but 2 voluntary defenses. Then let Canelo fight a voluntary defense. They talk tough about making fighters get their belt stripped or forcing them to vacate and then flip flop and bend over and agree to allow them to keep the belt and fight someone. They are frauds and don't give a crap about winning another paper vacant belt. They want the big named fight but they foolishly think they are the big name that gets to dictate the terms. Canelo had to agree to Floyd's catchweight and he was a much bigger star then GGG is. Why shouldn't he do the same?

They saw that the winner (canelo) had no intention to fight GGG so they allowed him to make one extra money fight, and then yes, they'll force their position. If they didn't allow Canelo to fight Khan, they would've fought anyway without the MW title.

So GGG is now fighting his IBF mandatory and then he can kick Canelo's ass or become undisputed MW champion if Canelo vacates. Then he can move to 168 and keep the 160 titles until canela mans up.

Just making a point that sometimes dropping a belt is not all that important. Ask Miguel Cotto!

Canelo has to either give up his belt or be stripped if he has no intention of facing his mandatory.....being middleweight champion means you defend your belt against other middleweights who can weigh up to 160lbs ...it's called defending your middleweight belt....now Canelo's fun ride at 155lbs is about to finish and he can no longer claim to be a champion of that division if he is not willing face his challengers period....I really don't care if golovkin faces canelo or not....I would much rather see the middleweight title being held by a middleweight and then he defends against other middleweights
If canelo can make 154 then that's what he should do...but personally him trying to make that weight could have serious problems for him if he is weight drained and 154lbs has killed him trying to make it.....that's when fighters lose so canelo better be careful or he could end up getting Donald curried
