Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Promoter: No More Step-Aside Deals For Canelo!

In the past K2 Promotions has placated the likes of Miguel Cotto and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez by allowing certain fights to take place and taking step-aside fees as they agreed to not enforce Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin's position as the mandatory challenge (which he earned by way of winning the WBC interim middleweight title back in 2014 against Marco Antonio Rubio.)

Canelo does not need GGG and should avoid the commie GGG

Canelo should just avoid GGG and fight Saunders the eASY FIGHT. Canelo should also let GGG fight Jacobs then decide whether to give up the 160lb belt. Canelo is a mexican Superstar with a huge greaseball following of illegals in the USA. GGG has no faN BASE and GGG brings nothing to Canelo but a loss. Tell GGG to go to hell or bACK TO rUSSIA no difference. Mexicans have never been known for bravery or courage. Si' Si'

remember when rid**** bowe got slayed by boxing fans for vacating his WBC belt rather than facing his mandatory challenger, lennox lewis? do today's boxing fans still have that mindset or will they find a way to turn this into a "win" for canelo?

Thank you! This is what I want to hear. Team Golovkin finally saying the right things. I would respect this 100% and will be Team Golovkin if they go through with this. Unless he fights Ward or Lara of course then I gotta root for my guy.

Talk is cheap GGG and his camp have flip flopped so many times it's hard to keep track. They talked tough before and directly after Cotto vs Canelo too. And then bent over and stepped aside. So why should I think this time is any different? People need to realize this fight will only happen on Canelo's terms so GGG either agree to the weight or stop taking step asides and Canelo will throw that belt in the trash for you. He has no leverage with Canelo just like he had no leverage with Cotto. Both fighters are bigger then any alphabet belt.
