Because he got real quiet when the Porter fight was originally announced. Then the fight was delayed. Then he got into an accident and the fight was delayed again. He's been really quiet. He's usually a big talker but he suddenly go quiet. And that allowed Kenny Porter to shape the narrative about Thurman.

This. Him having a tough moment or two to Guerrero, him fighting Collazo at all & then all the unknownness & pushed back dates with Porter = your stock takes a dip.

Things change quick in boxing. I remember when Tito spent some time fighting some less then stellar opposition, & got dropped once or twice iirc, but he still went on to become huge when he got the right fights. Thurman is getting things back on course with a W vs Porter.

IMO his power, which is impressive, requires him to telegraph. That'll work if he hurts someone or on lessor opponents where he can get away with it, but his mechanics won't work as well against better opposition. Personally I think that's what's starting to show. I hope they've recognized it and have started working on it. He's always going to be a great finisher, he's got to work on the tools to get there with better opposition.

Hes been inactive for a little while . Plus he pulled out of the porter fight and hasnt been in the spotlight alot lately. If he beats porter his stock will rise again.
