I don't think Thurman cares. He made a lot of money fighting Bundu level opponents. (Last I heard, he made $2.7 million in the Collazo fight.) That clearly affected his motivation to fight more often. We still don't know why the Porter fight took time to materialize, this even before the alleged accident. There's still no explanation to his sudden disappearance.

Honestly man I blame Haymon. He needs to keep these guys more active & against better comp. A lot has to do with Haymons lack of promotional experience. I dont wish pbc bad, I just wish theyd pick up on somethings. Thurman could be a star but im tired of seeing him defend his "interim" belt against bundu's. The ghost fight was cool though just lacked something just like Mares vs Santa Cruz did. Honestly had they been under Arum or GBP, those fights would still be talked about. These pbc guys vanish like cake around a fat kid.

He saw how Porter stomped on Broner's career and he doesn't want any of that.

At one point that man was considered Antonio Margarito.. At one point it was Zab Judah. Ricky Hatton too. And then they lose and people find a new boogeyman... Nothing new.

I think Spence is gaining traction as the new "boogeyman" so Thurman is being forgotten a bit.

I'd say that basically everyone saw his liver almost explode after Collazo landed that body shot -

and then in the subsequent months, Welterweight had a new titlist in the accomplished Danny Garcia, and added emerging fighters like Spence to its ranks. On the other end you have someone like Jessie Vargas.. who lacks flash and not many people are interested in, but he's there and pretty seasoned for his age. And of course Brook who is now acknowledge as someone contending WW's should fight

Thurman was looking like an exciting alternative to the conventional boxing star and so he got attention when thinking about boxing after Pac-May. But he has to fight the fights to get him to be that guy....and now some of the matchups he'd be taking to arrive at that position look different. the market changed that's all.

              Still wide open though

It's a combat sport and recently it appears he's not interested in combat. He was highly touted and should be walking over guys like collazo instead he's moving away from him the whole fight. And now you have this stuff with porter. Fans don't respect fighters that come off as pu$$ies.

This is what happens when you don't fight. Plain and simple

It'll go back up after he makes easy work of Porter.

I think what p|ssed people off was being so quiet. Porter was calling him out left and right, yet he remained inactive and silent. It was weird. I guess that is just how he operates. He is very low key.
