But Canelo has WAY more options then GGG does.

Canelo can repair part of his reputation fighting Thurman/Porter, Andrade, Charlo Bros. Kell Brook. All good PPV fights.

      Who will GGG have???

The NEW WBC mandatory Jorge Heiland.

WBA Alfonso Blanco (Because I don't think Loeffler will pay Jacobs).

WBO Arif Magomedov (Because we all know he lied about Saunders money)

      IBF Gran Turino

None of those fight are worthy of PPV.
If GGG/Canelo went to a purse bid it would be at 160 with a 55/45 purse split, because GGG is the WBBC interim champ.

No unbiased boxing fan would criticise him for refusing to accept either a catchweight or a much lower purse than he is entitled to.

Most boxing fans don't give a schit about resumes or A side B side, or catchweights. All they would care about is that a champion got stripped of his title for refusing to defend against his No1 contender.

Golovkin would have plenty of options for interesting and lucrative fights if he picked up a 3rd world MW title. Jacobs, Saunders or Eubank Jr in the UK, Ramirez, Degale or Groves at 168 ...

Sure caliber of opponent plays into things. But whatever numbers Canelo does I believe vs the same caliber of opponent he's selling more PPV's than anyone else. If Canelo were to fight Lemieux he'd sell more PPV's than GGG did vs him.

I suspect all things being equal Canelo outsells Cotto. Mosley, Marquez & Bradley are the only other PPV players left still fighting (or not) & I believe all things being equal he outsells them. I don't know that anyone else on the PPV table comes close cuz they lack the history/success still.

Its okay to just say Canelo is the most popular fighter in boxing on his side of the globe that happens to have the most money being thrown at boxing.

It would be interesting to see how many PPVs if Canelo fought Lemieux in a non title fight after getting stripped for refusing to fight GGG. It would also be very interesting to see who the fan favourite would be in that one.

Everybody likes and respects a fighter with heart, who doesn't run away from a tough challenge.

Is the cut really 55/45? I can definitely see Canelo turning that down & getting knowledgeable boxing fans support for not accepting to that & therefore dropping the belt. Canelo is for sure the money guy in this fight & to split maybe $20M ($11M/$9M) + PPV money with GGG at those cuts is a horrible deal.

Anyone know how PPV money gets split when there is a purse bid? I'd assume its at the same cut (55/45 if that is indeed the correct cut which I tend to doubt), but have never heard that confirmed.

Move the *** on already, your career doesn't revolve around Canelo, or does it? Time is ticking, your getting older, make a big move, show us why your not overrated as ***.

I'd bet a nice percentage of fans who buy the PPV don't even now what belt is being fault for or that a title is or isn't on the line lol. So I doubt it does much negative to the numbers.

Doubt we will be able to see the results cuz I suspect most likely outcomes involve the WBC finding a way to allow Canelo to keep the belt or prolong this situation or they award him some other belt or Canelo will jump towards another title.

Your INSANE if you think they're gonna give GGG a 55/45 split. It will never go to a purse bid.

Why are you still repeating that garbage about CWs? It's been explained to you many times that Canelo is setting all kinds of disgraceful precedents, dummy
I get it! I'm the dummy! Yet GGG is fighting Dominic Wade on Saturday! If that's cool with you, then DO YOU! I'm not mad at 'cha!
