On the Ruckus podcast they reported that RN/Cotto agreed to pay GB/Alvarez the extra money for dropping the belt at the last minute. They also reported Cotto fired his lawyer Gabriel Peñagarícano over it.
Cotto's June show was canceled b/c it wouldn't be ppv. It sounds like after Khan, we'll get Canelo/Cotto II.

Does he want to PROVE he's great or is he content on fight cab drivers Canelo has PLENTY of options. He can fight the winner of Peterson/Thurman. Andrade. Either Charlo brother. Brook.ALL on PPV.
Who does GGG have left??? Jorge Heiland, Gran Turino?? Colonel Saunders???? None WORTHY of PPV

Anyone know how PPV money gets split when there is a purse bid? I'd assume its at the same cut (55/45 if that is indeed the correct cut which I tend to doubt), but have never heard that confirmed.
What will happen is Loeffler can say will here's your belt SORRY I COST you your BIGGEST PAYDAY EVER!!! My BAD... You think Saunders would take $1.5 again but we'll tell the media the offer is $10 million this time?? That would REALLY make him look like a ducker.
And I would HOPE GGG would FIRE that RTARD on the SPOT.

The future is bright for Canelo! GGG can wait on him to go to 160, but he might be waiting 2 years! Is that what he wants???
Erislandy Lara vs. Vanes Martirosyan
Jermall Charlo vs. Austin Trout
Jermell Charlo vs. John Jackson
Keith Thurman vs. Shawn Porter
Throw in the usual rest and this is like printing $$$$.
And we ALL know GGG moving up to 168 is a PIPE DREAM! I'll see it when I see it.
Jacobs and Saunders both told CHEAP sss LYING POS Tom Loeffler to go *** himself. Who was just CAUGHT LYING his @ss of about that "Life Changing Money" offer to Saunders! That was some BS he pulled.
"That's correct,"confirmed Tom Loeffler, the managing director of K2 Promotions on Wednesday afternoon,"a unification fight would be our first priority, it would be our top priority and we made a significant offer to Frank Warren for that fight."
Loeffler stated,"Our offer was for BJ to fight in the U.S.''

Whether the PPV money money would be split on the same basis is something I don't know. I guess that would depend on how the bids were structured.
If team GGG simply refused to negotiate with GBP and requested a purse bid instead, like Gym did with Stevenson/Kovalev, then I agree that knowledgable boxing fans would condemn them and say that Canelo deserved more than 55%. I would condemn K2 myself if they forced a purse bid deliberately
But I absolutely disagree that GGG would be blamed by knowledgable fans if a purse bid was called because of Canelo's ridiculous and unprecedented catchweight demand.
I've been involved in boxing for a long time and I have friends who are even more involved tham I am now. Not one person I have spoken to about GGG/Canelo, neither knowledgable or casual fans, is condemning GGG for turning down the catchweight.
Maybe in the US the situation is different. As you say, there are a lot of Mexican and Latino fans there who will side with Canelo because of ethnic loyalty, or whatever you want to call it. I've also read some very biased opinions about it in Oscar's monthly rag, formerly known as the Bible of Boxing, which probably influence US fans more than in other parts of the world.Last edited by kafkod; 04-18-2016, 06:57 PM.

I think I figured out what goes down with the WBC if this fight doesn't happen & the WBC holds to their word. They'll strip Canelo's belt & award it to GGG. And then they will have Canelo & Cotto(?) fight for GGG's interim or regular or whatever lesser WBC belt he has now. GGG will hold his new belt. And Canelo will have a new belt in September. I'm a problem solver!!! Anyone agree or wanna tell me why that couldn't happen?

+He had the power and chin to turn pro.
There is no way a fight against a guy like Ramirez will be competitive even if the guy is bigger.
Ramirez has an average defense and doesn't really fully uses his arm lenght, his size won't help him, GGG will walk through him.
