The only guy in this era or recent era who is arguably more skilled than Money is Hopkins. May just has a big edge in athleticism compared to BHop.

Why would Ward need to go to cruiserweight and beat a fighter the calibre of Crawford? Gamboa went north 9 pounds from his original weight division and got battered. Gamboa makes far more technical mistakes and has way more flaws than Ward, its an embarrassing comparison. Ward is going to be fighting one of the best fighters out there in Kovalev so lets see how he goes. Lets forget that Ward has already beaten fighters of a much higher calibre than Gamboa ever did.

You say he can't throw a straight right hand which is also not accurate there are plenty in this video. He has every punch in the book, the only part I agree is that he is better with his left hand and more left hand dominant, funny that considering he is naturally left handed?

Gamboa makes defensive lapses...That has absolutely nothing to do with the technique in which he throws his punches and which everyone I mentioned is better than Ward and more about his mindset. Well you just proved you don't know how weight works. The lower you go the more the small amounts of weight matter. Gamboa and Rigo's footwork and general ring generalship are above wards. They can throw any punch while moving, Ward however cannot and relies on entering and exiting through his Jab which while way more limtied can be more effective. See Ward is probably the smartest fighter in the world today and certainly one of the most effective..but most skilled? Most ability? That is a joke and I'll laugh at any boxing fan who believes that.

Ward also knows how to control his opponent's head, misdirect them and being able to tie an opponent's arm whilst working the free hand is a skill regardless of how under appreciated it is.

You just can't undermine any of these qualities because eventually Rigondeaux won't be able to move around as freely and he might end up like Calderon as a result of that.
Yes a tactic he resorts to because of his lack of the skills that Rigo has...once again...Ward is in the Molina/Herrera school of boxing... Floyd can do all that and way more... This is a joke of a thread.

I don't know if Ward would be able to beat a cruiser version of Sugar Ray Crawford. But Kovalev will be a tougher fight than this poor comparison.
So we'll find out how great Ward truly is.

Donaire is a career flyweight so by your logics...

I would say, wins over Froch, Kessler, Dawson are not bad at all.
Because knocking people out through the kinetic force achieved from a correct technically thrown right hand is a thing achievable for anyone who actually learns the "skill". Something Ward cannot do most likely because his over dependence on his jab.

Punchers are not born, certain people are born with builds more applicable to boxing technique and have muscles with higher "IQ" if you will.

Hopkins is nowhere as close as skilled as prime Mayweather

It's like that one guy kept posting gifs and Manny getting a clean hit on Floyd and claim Manny never had a problem hitting Floyd. That's not gonna change my opinion on Floyd being offensively challenge compare to anyone who's have that elite status fighter.

No I said I think if Canelo fought a Hopkins the same age as him today then I could see Canelo getting a 1-2 point decision in his favour. I was annoyed that you idiots were having the usually W@nk session making it seem like good fighters just get wasted because they face someone from your childhood...gtfoh

People saying Vargas was better than Canelo, that is nostalgic horse *****

For some reason fighters today just can't possibly match those that fought from the 90's back....smh

Not because of childhood, because in one corner you'd have an ATG MW, in another a fraud who refuses to defend his MW title above 155 cause he's a no hoper vs his mando.

But gotcha, you went off topic as it said prime Hopkins, not same age or whatever
