Was anyone actually expecting the US viewing figures to be high? The UK numbers are what matter for him.

Showtime doesn't get a dime from those UK viewers who bought it on ppv. The promoter and fighters got paid no doubt. This is a massive failure for Showtime only.

Did they have a replay later on in the night? Or is this just from one broadcast during the day?

Cause if it's from one broadcast during the day then it makes sense for the numbers to be so low.

It's not about afternoon fights and it's not about head to head with HBO I can point to any fight you want like Jacobs vs Quillin which showtime paid 3mil alone for the Jacobs and Quillin in the main event and paid more money to produce a 24/7 type show to promote the fight and it did what 300k viewers and it wasn't during the afternoon and not head to head with HBO. Even guys like Wilder and Broner who did 1mil plus ratings over a year ago their last Showtime ratings were half that at about 500k viewers. And the mark in the sand before the ratings fell off a cliff is PBC/Golden Boy split.

Think about 1-2 years ago they would get 250-300k viewers on ShoBox friday night boxing where they paid prospects and journey men like 50k purses. Now they paying millions more then that for the same ratings on Sat night Boxing.

You're right overall, but I'm just reminding you about the time slot and the competition going on. People try to compare fights that are apples and oranges.

Nope he's just responsible for the demise of Showtime ratings unless you have another theory for why the moment haymon took his fighters to PBC Showtime ratings have completely tanked from then on? Why are Showtime boxing ratings across the board down more 50% in viewers from a year ago?

Terrible ratings continue to bottom out for Showtime. And before anyone says it's low because it was an afternoon broadcast remember this aired basically the same afternoon time as Fury/Klitschko on HBO which did over 1mil viewers. Showtime is in serious trouble this is basically 1/4th what Fury did and for over a year now Showtime's boxing viewership has been slashed by more then half what it was just over a year ago (Pre PBC launch and the split from Golden Boy). Those 2 factors have killed Showtime boxing.

Sub-500k is not good. A good Showtime return was around 750k.

On this occasion however, it was a daytime 5pm EST telecast with two names not well known in the US.
