I'm pretty sure I heard one of the commentators say it, and I was actually shocked by hearing it. Then I looked it up and saw it very well may happen. I knew someone was going to talk about that today. Not sure if Cyber Boxing will award Pac with the Lineal, but I think Ring definitely will award him with their title, they CAN.
Pacman: 5 lineal champion and 8 division champion.

Hmm, good point. Though I didn't notice any titles because I was not looking, I was playing a video game while waiting for the actual fight to start. But if that's how that works then oh well, no Ring belt for Manny.Comment

At any rate, what does giving Pacquiao a ''Lineal'' merit if he officially announced retirement? Pac came from a clear loss which HBO they did a slow motion replay while at the same time saying how Floyd schooled Pac. lol. This is ridiculous yet funny politics. I like to believe Oscar is old school normal, but I'm starting to think those nets on his body are worn hiddenly every day.I'm pretty sure I heard one of the commentators say it, and I was actually shocked by hearing it. "Bradley was coming off a loss to Pac and a draw to Chaves, and then two wins over an unranked Rios and a 140 pound Vargas."

Pity there's no cure for ******.
I've pulled it up especially for you just to help you out with the basic comprehension of a sentence.
In case you didn't know, Bradley was coming off a loss to Pac. You remember? That's why this one was called their third fight. Then, as mentioned above, he drew with Chaves and then, as mentioned above in the post you failed to read or comprehend, he had two wins over two guys unranked at 147 pounds.
There we go. Spelled it out real easy for you. Let me know if you need any more help with it.Comment

The weird thing is Guerrero never beat a top 10 WW either, to be fair. Aydin and Berto were not top 10 WW's, just dangerous WW's at the time for a Lightweight coming up, but not top 10.

Wow, talk about epic levels of dumb. Mosley had just beaten the consensus number one welterweight. Maidana had just beaten another top ranked welterweight champion.
Did you even read it you slack jawed imbecile? I said the last ranked welterweight he fought, Pacquiao, he lost to. We're trying to establish how these guys are the consensus number one and two fighters. You can only become a number one or two ranked fighter in a division by beating guys that are ranked in that division.
Bradley's last two fights were wins, as mentioned in the post if you bothered to read it, but it was to an unranked Rios and a 140 pound fighter in Vargas.
It has nothing to do with Floyd you silly little ****. I don't give a **** about Floyd because he's retired. I'm talking about your poor comprehension skills in relation to how these two guys could possibly be fighting for a lineal title when neither has beaten a top welterweight, and in fact, have lost the only fights they've had with the top welterweights they fought.
Understand now or are you still struggling? Shall I go slower?Comment

Hey, you got me. I was ignorant on the matter. This post was informative. albeit ****.

When talking boxing, "coming off" usually pertains to your last showings i.e last fight, or two. Not 4 fights back, 2 years ago. On the subject of the Lineal title you have your point, but I was taking it at face value i.e Bradley was not coming off a loss to Pacquiao, but a win over Vargas and Rios."Bradley was coming off a loss to Pac and a draw to Chaves, and then two wins over an unranked Rios and a 140 pound Vargas."

Pity there's no cure for ******.

Yep, agreed. The whole thing is just weird. I can't stand when they just randomly start making stuff up out of thin air and fake rules.Comment

I don't even really see the argument against this fight having started a new lineage. When the prior lineal champ retires, it's not necessarily supposed to be the case that the new lineal champ would beat the old one. To me it's clear Pacquiao is #1 at WW and that he beat the next available WW.
BennyST's argument doesn't convince me because you can deconstruct everyone at WW's resume at the moment the same way. Are you gonna say that Garcia is #1 for beating Guerrero & Malignaggi? Maybe you think Brook is #1 because he beat Kevin Bizier & Frankie Gavin? How about Porter coming off of Broner & Bone? Thurman off of Collazo and Guerrero? Khan for Algieri & Alexander?
Point is - the top WWs haven't fought top opponents recently. They just aren't fighting each other. The best win of that bunch is Khan over Alexander, but barely scraping by Algieri wasn't exactly a superb showing. The standard BennyST is offering is arbitrary and eliminates everyone at WW from being considered the best WW at the moment. That doesn't make sense to me when it seems apparent that Pacquiao and Bradley are the most accomplished of the bunch.Last edited by BrometheusBob.; 04-10-2016, 10:51 AM.Comment
