    • This thread was an overwhelming success. I just want to thank the OP and everyone who contributed but especially the OP.

      • Stevenson/Top Dog is my default fight of the weekend. Williams goes down in the first, and it looked like, well, he's got the check, it's not worth the pain, he's checking out on the next KD. Williams gets up, takes umbrage at the KD, and starts taking the fight to Stevenson !

Williams then started the invincible game, tapping his chin, and shaking his head "no", a la Galaxxy Warrior Nate Campbell ! Stevenson got him out of there in 4, but it was a tougher fight than he bargained for.

People are calling Frampton/Cruz a"war". I'm about to see tonight, but Stevenson/Top Dog was fought in a back alley.

          • I have no idea what Cruz's dad was talking about telling Santa Cruz to box and use movement. Since when has Cruz been a boxer/counter puncher, never! He is a strait ahead volume pressure fighter.

It just goes to show that Cruz-Haymon era in Cruz's career has only stunted and probably regressed his evolution as a fighter. Since he has been with Haymon he has fought only bums and he has only fought 5 times before the Frampton fight and 4 of those were against bums and the one good fight was against a broken Mares.

The Santa Cruz that was with Golden Boy was fighting better quality competition and improving with each fight. He was being brought along well and had a bright future. The GBP Santa Cruz would of beat Frampton.

His lack of quality fights and lack of rds showed in the Frampton fight. He was tired and he was hesitant and his timing was off all of which happen to Haymon fighters because they fight so rarely and when they do they fight bums.

            • God, Mauro Ranallo's yelling, combined with the Frampton fans' singing...had to turn the volume down.

              • I am one of the bigger Santa Cruz fans on NSB. I picked him to win. I thought he clearly lost but I questioned the judge that gave it to Frampton 9-3. I thought Frampton won 7-5.

Great display of boxing and excellent spacing/footwork by Frampton. Fought smarter and more determined then my boy Leo. I haven't read this thread so I hope we don't have the usual clowns whining about running.

Santa Cruz did a lot of work but he just wasn't landing enough. He couldn't defend himself. This is the same problem he has had in previous fights but the guys were such light hitters it didn't bother him. He needs to go back and reassess.

Obviously Frampton has other opponents he can make money with and earned the right to do so. My guess is he gets Selby or Quigg rematch next, unless haymon forces him to fight Russell.

My boy Leo can get back in the mix if he steps up to fight Rigondeaux, which he probably won't. Frampton really stepped up and should be on the top 10 p4p list IMO. Leader for FOTY IMO.

Also great to see Mikey Garcia back as I am a big fan of his as well.

                  • HL - Album : Robbery.

Eleven Images here : I left out the jabs because Santa Cruz had outlanded Fraudton 2-1 so I decided to really see if he outlanded him in power punches and NO thats false.

                    • I thought the fight was a draw, but after another watch I think Santa Cruz won 7-5.

I think a lot of the ******s that post on here get influenced by things such as the commentating, the crowd, the body language of the fighters, and their perception of how much power a fighter has.

Frampton has a very smooth body language and I think a lot of you ******s equate that to him winning the fight. Leo Santa Cruz moves like a weirdo.

After Santa Cruz was wobbled in the second round Frampton was given way too much credit for any punch he landed after that. And Santa Cruz isn't given enough credit for his punches. He is perceived as feather-fisted, but if that was the case Frampton's face wouldn't have been so f**ked up after the fight.

The commentating was just plain disgusting. They completely ignored any work that Santa Cruz did.

And the crowd cheering for the hundreds of missed punches Frampton threw surely influenced the ****** judges. The only good judge was the Italian.

I do think Frampton controlled the pace of the fight, but I feel that Santa Cruz still won.
