Too much experience, TKO over Beterbiev. Kovalev would just break him down with body jabs, TKO. Barrera vs Beterbiev would be a good match up, but I still got Sullivan beating him, especially after fighting Ward.

So if the theory is that Kovalev doesn't want to fight Adonis, or neither do both in ever serious conversations, then what's the point sticking around? Kova is just waiting for the WBC and Lineal to be lost and then claim it? Who else does Kova need to fight at LHW to prove anything? İronically Ward moved up... Now if kova is sticking around because he wants Ward, fine, he's acknowledging how good he is. Anybody else curious if Kova's power can translate moving up? Kova and Lil'G, especially Lil'G, remind me of Kostya Tszyu. How would he have done at 147?
You obviously don't like Beterbiev for not giving him any chances against any top 5... Fact is he was a prospect from the amateur years and has always been seen as a Champion in the making...Also your theory doesn't hold because every sanctioned bodies will ask Kovalev to defend the belt he owns when the time comes... And the time will come for Beterbiev to claim his title...

Beterbiev would go thru Fonfara, Sullivan or Shabranskyy... Pascal and him are in different organisations (GYM vs INTERBOXE) so a fight could happen though very unlikely since it would do nothing for Beterbiev in terms of proving something...

To each his own, but for me the odds of Artur fighting Kovalev within a year from now are real... Besides Ward, I think Kovalev definitely wants two things: Unifying the belts, and take away the stain that follows him since the amateur years...

LOL sugarkainehook said fonfara and sullivan would beat Beterbiev?

Beterbiev is right next to Kovalev and Ward. In fact, I can see him unifying the damn division. Beterbiev is a scary mofo with the most power

Dude relax, and you're pointing to others that I don't like Beterbiev. Who has he beat in the top 30s? Tavoris hasn't even been ranked for a minute and had a year off since Stevenson...

I don't like his style as of yet in the pros. Didn't he get floored by Page Jr.? Then he went balls out, wasn't composed, bawled out got knocked out. Of course anything can happen in boxing, but I'm not convinced nor have I seen him go against a top 20 let alone any real boxers that can neutralize or control range.

He has fought in Chicago. I'll bet anything he'll go against Fonfara which will be a great matchup and the Chicago fanbase for Fonfara. I think Fonfara would out box him. I'm just judging by ring experience. Beterbiev I'd like to see go the distance with an elite. How he got floored best you bet the elite will capitalize on an accurate chin strike..

He became Kovalev's mando for the same reason Wade became mando for GGG ... guys ranked higher than him didn't want the job.

Roc picked him as tune-up for Ward, don't forget.
So, Murat was Barrera's best win.....

..... so, who is Wade's best win ?

This feels old school. 2 of the very best the sport has to offer, that want to fight each other. It's definitely going to happen but not likely for 2016.

Yea I completely disagree with the Kovalev-haters.

Dude is a gangsta, I love his cut.

And I didn't pick up on any loss-of-confidence, or anything like that.

I think he would fight Ward tomorrow if he had to...... but yea, Kovalev has no problem waiting while Ward prepares himself..... so not sure why the asshat's insist on seeing that fight tomorrow?

Nobody notable. He and Barrera are at more or less the same level in their respective divisions, though Wade is ranked a bit higher than Barrera by both Boxrec and Fight.news.

Yeah, fighters who get knocked down by journeymen early in their careers never make it to elite level. Like Ward got knocked down by Darnell Boone then ... oh, wait ...
