Why exactly would he move up Division when he hasn't sweep his own Division yet ? ... I mean there are 3 guys there capable of taking his belts and he has fought none of them yet.. I should say 2 because Ward won't risk it... So that leaves us with my avatar and my sig...

Kovalev just said Ward should have 2 more fights first. You must be really scared of Ward huh. Barrera was ranked#1 for Kova's challenger for the IBF. Barrera is taller, more reach, if Ward comes with his A game man, there's a new LHW king.Comment

No, you seem to forgot that the mando was Toreano Johnson. He got "injured" by the magical forces of HBO, and it was Wade second in line. Roc didn't pick stop making stuff up man. Makes the forum cheap. Barrera was the true IBF #1 in line for Kova. Is there a difference between Wade and Johnson? Answer wisely.Barrera is ok but he wasn't top 20 ranked by Boxrec or Fight.news, which are the only indie rankings I bother with. Ward was only his 18th fight and his best win was Karo Murat. He became Kovalev's mando for the same reason Wade became mando for GGG ... guys ranked higher than him didn't want the job.
Roc picked him as tune-up for Ward, don't forget.Comment

I think Fonfara would beat Beterbiev, just outbox him from the outside as he would respect his power. Pascal vs Bederbirev? They are pals we wouldn't see it. Adonis? Too much experience, TKO over Beterbiev. Kovalev would just break him down with body jabs, TKO. Barrera vs Beterbiev would be a good match up, but I still got Sullivan beating him, especially after fighting Ward. Why exactly would he move up Division when he hasn't sweep his own Division yet ? ... So if the theory is that Kovalev doesn't want to fight Adonis, or neither do both in ever serious conversations, then what's the point sticking around? Kova is just waiting for the WBC and Lineal to be lost and then claim it? Who else does Kova need to fight at LHW to prove anything? İronically Ward moved up... Now if kova is sticking around because he wants Ward, fine, he's acknowledging how good he is. Anybody else curious if Kova's power can translate moving up? Kova and Lil'G, especially Lil'G, remind me of Kostya Tszyu. How would he have done at 147?Comment

I still have to make Ward the favourite, but Kovalev is the first guy Ward has faced that has that loose rangey style combined with real power. He's overall a better boxer and a harder puncher than both Froch and Kessler.
Ward is so hard to hit clean though. Kovalev has shown that he can be calculating and defensively responsible, and that he can be reckless and vulnerable to big counters. He will need to find that balance between patience and inaction against Ward.
This is partly why the location could matter a lot for this fight. There will be a lot of half landed shots and how the crowd is reacting to them will have a lot to do with how the fight is scored.Comment

Sergey is right. Ward obviously has some ring rust and is not in good enough form to take on the Krusher. It's a respect thing. I'm actually impressed and like Sergey that much more now. Kova knows Andre isn't at his best and wants Ward to be primed when they meet. G sh--!
This feels old school. 2 of the very best the sport has to offer, that want to fight each other. It's definitely going to happen but not likely for 2016.Comment

i saw barrera hitting him over and over with a jab. did you see his busted up face afterwards? kovalev's jab will destroy him and kovalev also uses feints unlike barrera. thats why ward was able to avoid barrera's power shots.I still have to make Ward the favourite, but Kovalev is the first guy Ward has faced that has that loose rangey style combined with real power.
