Any updates on black wells condition?

I swear, if this sport was invented today it would never be legal.

As of 2 hours ago still in a coma, stable and expected to remain that way over night. From what's come out though it seems hard to be sure just how bad he is. I remember Spencer Oliver being in a similar way years ago (watching that live I thought he might die that night) and being well enough to be on TV doing interviews/commentary weeks afterwards. Hopefully it's something like that rather than him ending up like McClellan or worse.

Its still more strategic of Eubank winning just with a typical throwaway comment about injuries to the other fighter that just happened to come true on this night sadly. If nothing had happened to Blackwell in this fight little would have been made of these remarks.

Plus the truth is there is a vested interest in Blackwell not being critically injured in this fight cuz as the saying goes when a fighter dies two careers are destroyed.

Not trying to say anything bad about Eubank I just don't see all the father/humanitarian of the year type **** holding much water over what was said. Guy gave advice to get a W which just so happened to include words about a guy being injured & he did get injured. I don't even think he mentioned it in a particularly caring or concerned way he's just got that British accent so everything sounds nicer lol.
        No youre wrong

        Read it again

‘The next time you throw a flurry like that, if the referee doesn’t stop it then I don’t know what to tell you, I will tell you this, if he doesn’t stop it and we keep on beating him like this he’s getting hurt.

Why hasn’t the referee stopped the fight? I don’t get why.
Maybe you shouldn’t leave it to the referee. But you're not going to take him out to the face, you're going to take him out to the body.’

Obviously hes concerned that Eubank jnrs head punches are hurting Nick Blackwell, and as a result he tells his son to take him out via bodyshots instead.
If it was strictly a strategy to win why be concerned that Nick Blacwell is getting hurt? It wasnt strategy, it was just a way to finish the fight without seriously injurying Blackwell.

Chris Snr permanently injured Michael Watson and didnt want history to repeat itself. If you know anything about Chris Eubank Snrs past then you know the concern was genuine.

I saw the fight, and Blackwell was defending himself fairly well during those arm punch flurries from Eubank Jr. Sure a few got through, but it didn't seem like anything overly devastating to me.

Eubank Jr. is one over rated fighter though. I can see why he prefers to stay on the domestic level. Jacobs, and Golovkin would KO him within four rounds.

Either way it saved Blackwell from taking even more trauma to the head.
That's the way I saw this too, at the end of the day he implore his son to go to the body so that the fight can be stopped. Since the ref and corner isn't stopping a man that was taking uppercuts upon uppercuts like skittles due to some ****** grudge/warrior that *****s are suppose to have.

It was definitely genuine on Eubank Sr's part. He nearly killed Michael Watson. After their fight, Watson was in a coma for 40 days, needed 6 brain operations, was in intensive care for a year and, after being released from hospital, then spent 6 years in a wheelchair not knowing if he'd ever walk again.

Eubank said he never threw a full power shot in any subsequent fight after he nearly killed Watson because he was afraid of the damage he might potentially cause his opponent. He often talked about quitting the sport in many interviews back in the early 1990s after that fight. It haunted him for years and probably always will.

People need to remember that Eubank Snr made Michael Watson disabled from boxing....

He calls boxing a fools game to this day due to the danger.
