Further vindication that the only genuine "early stoppage" in boxing is death. We as boxing fans get on the case of boxers and refs alike due to early quitting/stoppages. A fan sitting in front of a TV screen or behind a keyboard can talk ****, but the men in the middle have families, parents, children, wives, girlfriends and side chicks, all of whom love them.
Amongst black people here in South African townships, there is this culture of guys who do doughnuts in the middle of the streets to raucous applause, cheers and support. The second a dude crashes, those same people who were cheering and throwing panties at the guy stop giving a ****, and walk over to a car that hasn't crashed and don't give that n*gga a second thought.
There too many "hardcore" and casual boxing fans with the same mindset of "entertain us, your health and well being be damned".
God bless Blackwell, and hopefully he makes a full recovery, and finds a way to live outside the ring.Comment

Yeah, he was looking out more for Blackwell than the ref was apparently. He's not going to tell his son to not throw punches but at least he gave him an order not to keep going to the head.He tells Jr to try to take him out to the body because Blackwell is taking a beating and the ref won't stop it.
"If he doesn't stop it & we keep beating him like this, he's getting hurt" - Eubank Snr maybe saving Blackwells life pic.twitter.com/Tag2Aal6n5

You don't really don't know the history of Eubanks snr my friend.....it took a long time for Eubanks to get over the injury to watson When they boxed and Eubanks was never the same in terms of killer instinct...so I would say yes he does have some kind of feeling about thisOriginally posted by WeltschmerzHe was just asking him to take him out to the body, hardly gave a **** about the health of Blackwell tbh...Comment

I don't see this corner speech as humanitarian as others are making it out to be. He just tells him he should go to the body to get the KO instead of the head since Blackwell isn't getting stopped & the ref isn't stopping it. Its still more strategic of Eubank winning just with a typical throwaway comment about injuries to the other fighter that just happened to come true on this night sadly. If nothing had happened to Blackwell in this fight little would have been made of these remarks.
Plus the truth is there is a vested interest in Blackwell not being critically injured in this fight cuz as the saying goes when a fighter dies two careers are destroyed.
Not trying to say anything bad about Eubank I just don't see all the father/humanitarian of the year type **** holding much water over what was said. Guy gave advice to get a W which just so happened to include words about a guy being injured & he did get injured. I don't even think he mentioned it in a particularly caring or concerned way he's just got that British accent so everything sounds nicer lol.Comment

Totally agree, i don't understand how so many people have misinterpreted this. Cornermen often tell their fighter to go to the body if the opposition is taking a beating to the head, and still hasn't been stopped. The getting hurt thing was a throwaway commentComment
