Barrera is ten times slower & despite HBO not wanting too acknowledge it Barrera was landing quite a lot of leather. If there is one knock on Barrera its his lack of speed.

Kovalev might not be the fastest guy but he isn't slow either and the thing is he is extremely precise, throws from angles and unlike Barrera a very basic boxer he throws in combination doubling up and tripling up with both hands.

Barrera its all left, right, left, right, its easy too pick up on.

Kovalev is so much more than a puncher and there is a bit of crudeness there that works in his favour. Its a totally different proposition to a slow, basic textbook boxer.

Btw, Barrera's hand speed is on Angulo/Johnny Gonzalez level and he could land some punches on Ward, which means Kovalev will land too, and more often.
