  • Did Ward Look Great or Terrible?

I didn't get to see Ward-Barrera, but according to one side on here, he looked great and Kovalev and GGG must be soaked in their own urine.

On the other hand, he looked slow and ordinary and will get killed against Kovalev for sure.

This is almost worse than the commentary on HBO.

    Which was it, guys?

Terrible considering he was fighting a D level LHW, who was probably the slowest/stiffest/dumbest LHW I have seen in recent years. Worse fighter than Edwin Rodriguez.

Oh wow. All right. That's one for Ward performed terribly.

If you are black he looked great, if you are white he looked terrible.

He looked good, another fight to tweak out a lil more before he can do a masterpiece on KOvalev

Now we see why GGG wanted a catchweight lol of 164 an unheard weightclass, oh but Froch ok 168 not scared anymore, oh yes anybody from 154-168, except Canelo n Ward lol

To most of us it doesn't have to with race.

I thought he looked real good but not great.

Ward looked good, he did not clinch, he landed some nice shots. Barerra mostly stood in front of him and wasnt active until a low blow seemingly woke him up late in the fight. Basically Barerra had a hard time landing shots, when they got in close Ward would bend low, then Barerra would put his arm over Wards neck. Or tie up and ref would reset. Overall was a decent fight. As Roy Jones pointed out late, Barerra was untested at LHW, essentially this was his first real fight vs a proven opponent. So take it for what its worth. Ward was also cut late in the fight above the eye but handled it well.

                LOL.

Boxing truly brings out the tribe mentality. We're all back in our motherlands standing next to our pale or black brothers at fight time.

Odd, though, since Ward is half of each.

He looked sharp early and mid rounds. Up and down jab, good timing on his left hook, was very sound defensively.

He was never in any trouble in the championship rounds, but I thought he slipped some.

He will need to bring a complete fight to beat Kovalev.

Yeah. Don't know about that bending low though. It's a pretty lousy tactic, even when it works.
