Using that logic, I want to know what did Floyd Mayweather jr do to get a chance for the lineal 130 lb title against Hernandez. At that point Floyd had beaten all bums with no record. He was 17-0 and ALL were bums. But real bums. Look at their records. And don't talk to me about him looking special in fights cuz so does GGG. And don't talk to me about having a great amateur career with a medal at the olympics cuz do so did GGG.

And then some of you ****** Mayweather fans have the balls to say that Floyd wasn't handled anything... that he had a rough path. Then what about GGG? Tell me another joke please you ignorant fools!

Looks like maxi already got bodied in this thread lol.

Floyd was younger and came into the game with much more hype than GGG despite both having good amateur careers. Guys coming in with hype get title shots sooner than others, it's not a secret.

Not sure what having bums on the tail end of your record has to do with anything, that goes for literally every fighter out there. It's called progression. There are plenty of fighters out there who will never be more than a journeyman, club level type fighter - they will be opponents meant to pad records.

Floyd earned his like most fighters do, people tend to forget that, and then there are new fans who don't do their homework, they have no excuse.

TL;DR: Maxi on dat dere good ish homie. We want what he's smoking.

Hernandez was a legitimate champion though and Floyd still had to beat him, which he did. Compared to today the way guys like A Joshua end up with titles, Floyd definitely earned his first title. The dude is a real piece of crap, but you can't take that away from him. He earned that title and the fact that he won it fair and square against a real champion means he deserved to be there.

And he said yes to HBO back in 2013. Andre Ward said he couldn't fight because of shoulder and promoter issues. Then Ward wanted to fight him when he was about to unify 160, three years ago.

And in terms of weight that was like Mayweather fighting at 130 and being handed a chance to fight the 140 champion right away. Not the same scenario.

Yes, and so was.. Martinez, for example. And GGG would have beaten him too. The problem is that he was never given a chance, which Floyd did.

In 2013 he said yes to 168. In 2015/2016 he was not interested in Ward.
