Dirrell fight should have happened but it didn't. Don't blame him.
Stevenson doesn't ever want to fight anyone so it's more Stevenson ducking everyone else.
And Ward chose to fight Goosen so he can't really fight Degale when he was at the top of the division.

ward had no intention of fighting bute
"So I don't have to go to Lucian Bute right now," Ward said. "We're going to sit back and I'm going to rest and we'll see what's next. I'm open for a Mikkel Kessler clash. I would love to get that rematch "
"I think I earned the right to pick the right fight for the right price."
"he has to beat somebody. You can't sit back and just take your time while everyone else is working hard and you come in and get the same pay that everyone else gets. It don't work like that."
this is the guy that tried to fight truax, sartison, and periban saying bute had to beat someone. he never ever said i cant sign to fight bute because i'm hurt. in fact he was looking to setup a kessler rematch while hurt and even openly admits that he will be cherry picking from now on.

No, not really, Degale has only just hit it big within the last year so probably wasn't on Wards radar. Bute was destroyed immediately after the super six then went a bit missing. Dirrell pulled out of the fight when they were signed to fight, Ward would have fought him and the patha unfortunately weren't crossed due to both being out of the ring for extended periods. Stevenson you can argue but remember Stevenson wasn't a big name when he was a 168er, only really made his name after Ward had beaten Dawson and Ward was fighting his promoter when Stevenson Koed Dawson.
Must also be said, Ward has taken on a tougher fight (in my view) than any of them, Kovalev is a mean guy who I actually favour over him, struggle to believe you're ****ing someone when you're making a beeline for a tougher fight. Barrera isn't a gimme fight either, a solid 175er that can ask a question, though I expect Ward to be too good in that one. So my answer is no, Ward has not ducked any of them and is facing a bit of a monster in Kovalev soon.

People just throw around the word "duck" to attempt to discredit a guy they don't like.
Pathetic.

making a beeline means to do something very quickly. its been years since he has fought anyone good and he needs many fights before the kovalev fight. not a beeline, more like a zig zag line.

Why must we rehash the Bute bull****? Ward ran through Kessler, Abraham, and Froch in the Super Six while Bute camped out fighting the Jean Paul Mendys of the world. After Ward won the Super Six, he said Bute needs to prove himself in order to get the fight. Bute tried vs. Froch and had his manhood torched. That's it. No duck. Just a ****ty fighter that got hyped to be more than he really was. This happens when fans focus on style or potential rather than actual accomplishments.

I'll be looking at you for the apology.
