He didn't just lose. He had his career ruined. Fighting Bute became irrelevant after Froch scorched him. That fight didn't mean anything anymore and everyone moved on to Ward-Dawson and Ward-Froch 2.

Saying that someone ducked a certain fighter in a specific 4-month stretch of a certain year is petty. If Bute beat Froch and Ward still didn't fight him, you'd have a point, but let's be real, Ward fought Kessler, Abraham, Froch, Dawson, and is contracted to fight Kovalev in the same year he officially moved to LHW.
