He cherry picked Steve Forbes, Patrick Carpentier, Yori Boy Campas, and top rank had him fighting feathweights at 130 and 135

All of ODLH fights were not vs top flight opposition, like 100% of every other fighter....its not possible to fight top notch opposition every fight

      I was clearly being sarcastic.

You said he NEARLY fought everybody who wanted to fight him.

Last time I checked, nearly isn't everybody and with the way boxing fans are today, if you don't fight everybody, you are a cherry-picker.

      Hence why I said, cherry-picker.

There were something like 45,000 to 50,000 people in El Paso to see him fight Carpentier.

Talk about cherry picking bums for the money...

              What's there to backtrack?

I even capitalized the words Nearly and Everybody.............

I was being sarcastic and just following the ****** norms that the new boxing fans are trying to establish.

Mayweather consistently fought top opposition and put boxing on the map with many huge fights. I would say he did a lot better for it than not. He might not be everyone's cup of tea, but the guy did a lot for boxing and boxers.

Tyson could have alos hurt the sport in that sense, maybe we'll make did tyson hurt or improve the sport of boxing thread down the line, i am talking about floyd because he has been the biggest/most recent influence (as a fighter) in the sport.

Don't confuse me with saying that its Floyd's fault that the sport suck and its only his fault he did all of this... i am not that Naive.

If you want i can rephrase my question.

"if Floyd never entered the ring, would the sport be better or worse off today as a sport?"
Respectfully, I think alot of fans complain about how bad other sports are.

I get why you are talking Floyd, but if you had more historical knowledge and perspective, you would understand why Rascal26 said you are asking the wrong question.

No need, you are entitlted to feel how you do. You are right that a certain business model is being copied, you are just wrong to say it started with Floyd.

Canelo isn't doing what he did because Floyd did it. he's doing it because Bob did it with Leonard and ODH and ODH is doing it now because he is a promoter.

If people wanted to see KOs, Wilder should be running the sport.

For the amount of people who dislike Floyd, there is a huge number who like him.
Huge number? And what they like him for? Because he's a good substitution for a sleeping pill?

It's not about getting KOs. There's just nothing special about Floyd's fights, no matter how talented he is. If I just want to see someone box, I can just look at guys like Rigondeaux for that.

The real reason people coming and coming is because they want to someone take his 0 away. That's pretty much what his whole career depended on. The moment he loses it, nobody will care about him because there literally would be no reason to watch Floyd anymore.

Fans that think Mayweather invented or started anything must be really new to the sport.
