Well gee, only knowing the Mayweather name only led him to become the highest paid athlete of all time breaking every single PPV record ever made.

Not good enough. He had to fight EVERYBODY who wanted to fight him.

Your whole premise is that Floyd's actions control what other men do as far as business. These men make their own decisions.

"Risk averse" is where sports is now. Pitchers used to throw every 4 days, now its every 5 and they don't go 9 innings. NBA players would try and play 82 games, now thw stats geeks have them playing 65-70 games and getting rest to avoid injury. NFL is changing as well, rules are there to protect the QB and WR. top golfers and tennis players FFS play limited number of tournaments when the get to the Tiger/Spieth/Serena level. Hockey is eliminating fighting. Youth soccer is limting heading the ball.

Haymon and HBO are getting their big names easy fights that showcase them rather than putting them in tougher fights. This has happened since Tyson sold so much with McNeely. That was the point where everyone realized name fighters and not great fights is what sells.

You seriously blaming Floyd for this?
every other example you mentioned is a team sport and doesn't make the sport less entertaining or less competitive, in fact it makes those sports more competitive between teams. Boxing is different, its an individual sport. Tyson could have alos hurt the sport in that sense, maybe we'll make did tyson hurt or improve the sport of boxing thread down the line, i am talking about floyd because he has been the biggest/most recent influence (as a fighter) in the sport.

Don't confuse me with saying that its Floyd's fault that the sport suck and its only his fault he did all of this... i am not that Naive.

If you want i can rephrase my question.

"if Floyd never entered the ring, would the sport be better or worse off today as a sport?"

              No, not just that.

A substantial group came to see him box.............. and they kept coming............. and coming................. and coming.........

If people wanted to see KOs, Wilder should be running the sport.

For the amount of people who dislike Floyd, there is a huge number who like him.

Stay on topic simpleton. The thread asked if what he did to the sport made it better or worse. Yup, he rich doe! It's the absolute most ridiculous one liner used on this site. As if him making all that money excuses what he did to the sport.
