This is a very interesting fight! Cotto is no Canelo. The fact is James Kirkland makes for exciting fights every time out and he will make Cotto get on his A game or get KO'd. This fight ends in KO and will be an action thriller. Make it happen! I don't care what the naysayers say this is a damn good fight.

i get it kirkland isnt a threat like those guys i guess, but he's activity is just as low or worst than those guys...boxing is out of wack and these guys should be getting active and getting their earning potential while they still cant as young me instead of taking punches in the gym all year around

I dont know if Canelo actually said that, but if you think about the opponents Canelo had before Kirkland, saying Kirland is the hardest puncher he faced up to that point is not really a big deal.

I really believe kirk is heavyhanded , the way he destroyed a prime Angulo and a big young lion like tapia... but that's just my opinion, not like I have taken a punch from kirk...

right after the fight, it was an interview for espndeportes right after the press conference, I heard it in a los golpes the Monday after the fight...
he said he wanted to give the fans more rounds, but kirklands was overwhelming him, he said he hits harder than the others and was throwing punches like crazy, that's why he had to go for the KO so early...

How does this look for Cotto and Roach? They were criticizing Canelo for fighting a DEAD guy! If Kirkland was dead before Canelo, how the hell do you categorize him now? Canelo faced Mayweather, Lara, and Cotto. Its now time for the coward from Caguas to face the same opposition and Lara is asking to beat the **** out of Jottito! Where the fk are we going with boxing? All these stupi mismatches are BAD!

People that have sparred with Golovkin and Kirkland both say the power is the same. There is no doubt Kirkland packs a wallop. When he is in shape, he is hard for anyone to deal with. Given Cotto won't have a size advantage, I'd actually favor Kirkland to take this fight. I can't believe people are in here complaining about this fight. Its guaranteed fireworks. I'd prefer seeing this over any of the other big name options on the table. Cotto isn't going to waste his time fighting an unknown. He is making big money with the RocNation deal so it has to be an established guy. Kirkland presents war stylistically. This should be the choice.
