He was clearly hurt badly and there was likely no way out of that hold If he didn't tap he'd have got put to sleep there was no preventing it Diaz had the submission in too tight nothing he could do about it but it's Conor fault for giving up his back so easily he did nothing to defend it but then again I doubt you're thinking straight when you're rocked.

He wasn't gassed, Diaz hurt him badly with that 1-2 combination and it was more or less over from that point. Conor went for a desperate take down cause he knew Diaz was on his way to KO him. Conor is simply not the same fighter at 170. He's not a KO puncher nor does he take the punches as well as he did at 145.

Her quit, plain and simple. He's the one always talking about "panic wrestlers". The funny part is, he turned into one, in the worst possible way. He didn't want to go out on his shield, and willing to die in that cage. He went for a TD, so he wouldn't get hit anymore. Not the heart of a lion, at all.

His fake bravado was just that, fake.

Yes, he is. The sport is not called mixed-martial arts for nothing.

He quit in the literal sense of the word.. But it made no difference. He had lost the fight whether he tapped or not. Getting choked until you pass out isnt brave its ******.

I think he knew he could win a stand up trade, took a chance on the mat. Realised very quickly he couldn't win there either...and quit.

There is no martial arts aspect in the ufc.

Judo, Jiujitsu, karate, kung fu, krav mag, muay thai.

These are disciplines of the martial arts. They are things that need to be studied.

Again, just cuz you learn some basic punches & kicks doesn't mean you are a martial artist.

                    • I'm a fan of Mcgregor, but he quit there. What happenned is Diaz had full mount on him and started to ground and pound him. At this point there was little options for Mcgregor, either to stay on his back and suffer multiple concussions, getting lid up like Weidman vs Rockhold for 40 second on the ground. Or give his back, get choked out out, no further domage, his career not in jeopardy. He probably did the right thing for his career, but of course he showed some weaknesses here. But still, no shame into loosing a ufc bout 25lbs over your fight weight against very top competition and toff matchup
