I agree, without GGG .... Canelo is recognize as a coward.

Sanchez & Loeffler said Golovkin could fight in both July, September, and December if they don't get the Alvarez fight. If he were to unify all 4 belts in July vs Saunders at Boleyn Ground, then another fight in September, with Jacobs in December, for me that would be better than fighting Canelo. The WBC would have to strip Canelo if Golovkin insisted on fighting him this Sept and Canelo refused to do it. They have given K2 a contract guaranteeing that and awarded Golovkin their interim belt, which he's been paying them sanctioning fees for every fight since then, I presume.
But GGG was in the UK recently and BJS is now talking about fighting him this summer. It's possible Golovkin may give the Canelo showdown more time to marinate and opt for unification with Saunders first.
The problem with letting the fight marinate is that Canelo's taking p*ssy fights. After Khan, he'll probably fight someone like Margaritto or JMM in September. He's not charging forward and knocking out big bad dudes like David Reid, Fernando Vargas, and William Joppy.Comment

GGG should do what Lara did at the press conference! jump on the stage and call canelo out! plain and simple! nothing gets more to canelo than to be put on the spot infront of the media! not to metion the BS of 155 cachweight!! the WBC should ban catchweights! it is a disgrace to boxing!! sr. Canelo fight or Vacate!!!Comment

Well he refuses to take any challenges. Mayweather and Pacquiao fought top 5 P4P fighters more than 10 years prior to 34 years old. And even then, it took them years of dominating through weight classes to finally get top 3 P4P recognition by journalists and fans. GGG was given the spot by beating no one of note. That doesn't get you big fights. His top 3 status was a gift by writers, websites, and fans because he is a likable KO artist, no other reason. He didn't actually earn with a big win, or several big wins.
Mayweather, Pacquiao, Canelo are three guys of 3 different races and they were/are all superstars. Pacquiao did not inherit a large following just from being Asian, he had to earn it by beating guys up that people didn't think he could beat. African Americans of Floyd's era don't sell very well, Floyd had to do it by winning and taking challenges. A fighter as young as Canelo being that popular doesn't just happen by being Mexican, you have take on the fighters that fans say you are ducking (Trout, Lara) and win.
Geography is not the problem here, it's the balls.

First off, Ward really has little to nothing to do with my stance. Secondly, GGG's quest to "unify" IS him chasing chasing meaningless fights. When he started this mess, it was Lemieux, Cotto, and Lee. Now its Lemieux, Canelo, and Saunders. Lemieux is a bum. Lee is a bum. Cotto is a jr middleweight. Canelo has never beaten a legitimate middleweight. And Saunders has no interest in fighting GGG. GGG is the concensus best middleweight in the world with or without the belts. So chasing them is irrelevant. And if unification is his goal, move up and unify in another division.Who's he chasing, besides fellow MW champ Alvarez? He wants to unify! Is he chosing shitty competition? Or is he fighting who's put in front of him, since better-ranked contenders are avoiding him? Ward needs to prove that he's able to live up to the mythical status he held 4 years ago. What better way to do that, than face a big name guy who's naturally smaller than him? People say that Canelo, who holds a belt in the same division as GGG, has the right to demand a CW, because he's the "A" side. Yet if Golovkin shows reluctance to throw the larger and of late underachieving Ward a bone, he's somehow at fault?Comment

So what if Canelo has never fought a legitimate MW? He holds a MW belt. Golovkin has expressed that he wants to unify his division, which is MW. Why should he care what you want him to do? And do you really want him to move up and unify, or do you just want to see him lose; realizing that the only way that is likely to happen is at the hands of a bigger, stronger fighter?First off, Ward really has little to nothing to do with my stance. Secondly, GGG's quest to "unify" IS him chasing chasing meaningless fights. When he started this mess, it was Lemieux, Cotto, and Lee. Now its Lemieux, Canelo, and Saunders. Lemieux is a bum. someone needs to shake this punk Up...the division is 160, pounds not some fraud weight of 155 as he's been striving 4....
he's been under the protection umbrella ever since the beginning with both WBC and now gbp, who screwed All Star Boxing... he beat Cotto yes but I believe when I saw tv & videos of Laura & Trout both of those guys beat this fraud...Comment

He'll get his payday's eventually..same ishh that happened with Martinez, happened at the tailend but it happened. Without Canelo's he's a lineal champion with a friendly face and no scandals to turn off sponsors. Golovkin as lineal makes crazy endorsement money..even without Canelo. There's levels to this here business.Comment

You seriously think Canelo will be able to continue shedding 35-40 lbs for another 14 months? If Canelo is still carrying up welters or draining middleweights by the middle of the year next year then he's an absolute fraud and coward. What I have been saying for months. GGG wants the WBC strap for sure, but the bigger prize is the payday that comes with it. He just needs to look at what Amir Khan is making, a reported guaranteed $8 million, to see what he is leaving on the table by playing hardball.
The last thing GGG and K2 want is for Canelo to vacate. Without Canelo there are no big money fights for GGG in the future and he is on the wrong side of 30 to wait it out.
I think in the end the fight gets made for May of 2017 at 155 in exchange for a bigger money split then quite frankley GGG deserves. Probably 65-35 in the end.Comment

Your a RTARD!!!Floyd was the 1st American to beat a Cuban in 20years!!! He beat the LEGENDARY Loerenzo Aragon. Also you dumb *** he was ROBBED so bad the the ref lifted his arm even though he was ROBBED...And Canelo beat P4P boxers while GGg beat fkn skanky hood****. U dumb *** GGG hasn't fought one too 100 P4P boxer. Andre Ward would of beat this over hyped Ronda Rousey/Conor McGregor FRAUD up.
Ahahhaha lol. Thank you for this emotionally charged post. It's given me a good laugh. Its good that this site allows even teenage boys like yourself to give their opinion. I'm stating fact thoughs boy - floyd lost and got Bronze. Fact - ggg won silver. Fact - floyd has done a great deal more than ggg in the pro's. Fact - you wouldn't call me a rytard to my face so keep pounding on that keyboard boy.Comment
