I'd like to see a rematch at 155 at some point. Maybe with a full camp Diaz still beats him. But maybe McGregor prepares better, who knows.
Yea but you think diaz was out there training for Connor? Can't we say the same thing? Still it doesnt sound like connor wants to rematch him anytime soon

He's like a Tyson type guy who didn't need to develop stamina all that much. He's running over most opponents. Its no surprise he's gassing towards the end of the first cuz he's usually back in his dressing room at that point of the fight. And it seems like bullies tend to quit quicker when cats don't just fold. So I think there is definitely something you are picking up on thats correct.
I generally agree with this view. I also don't think he got gassed all that much. It appeared that it was the left hand from Diaz that stumbled him in the last 3 minutes that made him slow down considerably. After that he appeared to "quit" by trying to take Diaz down (which I thought was done out of desperation). Once he realized some of those great standing strikes weren't going to be enough to deter Diaz his body language was very telling.

And to those that are saying Diaz was the bigger man; you are only half right. The truth is CM is a guy who walks around at 170-172 and was cutting a **** ton of weight to beat up on featherweights at 145. Diaz fights at 155 regularly, which I think is CM's more natural cut weight. The fight took place at 170 because that's what CM asked for and Diaz couldn't make 155 in time. CM deserves some credit for "moving up" but the truth is he was moving up to the division he should have been fighting at anyway. Diaz deserves even more credit than CM for taking a fight on short notice and closing the deal when he was likely not in great shape.

Fair enough, I guess (with McGregor being the star of the show, I doubt that Dana White didn't give him any heads up on the possible opponent options).

Beyond that, simply stated that he might be a front-runner; he'll have opportunities to settle that question. Frankie Edgar is still sitting there at 145, so we'll see what McGregor does with that work.

Let's see if a pattern sets in.

was pretty funny when they asked holm after the fight with connor right next her about how she refused to tap and ended up getting put to sleep and how impressive it was they panned out to connor and he felt so ******.

i still think that was an amazing show of courage heart and flat out guts that she didnt tap and was put to sleep cause of it im sure in hopes the bell might ring that was impressive.

Conor just beat the lb for lb top guy in the UFC at 145 and moved up 25 pounds to fight a top 5 guy at 170...

Tyson Fury beat a washed up Wlad, which also is his only fight of any significance...

Floyd has never faced the toughest opponent at the time fans wanted to see the fight since you'd have to go to back to Castillo...

Conor takes the biggest challenges, so of course he's going to have losses... if Floyd moved up to fight Triple G or fought Pac 6 years ago or even fought Winky at 154 back when that fight was an option...he'd have more losses than just the Castillo gift...

The reason boxing is dying and UFC is thriving... boxing has become a clinch and run decision-never get the fight I want sport...while UFC protects no stars... much better product.

She actually tried to tap out immediately but the ref didn't see it, the announcers even screamed she's tapping...

                    But nice story though.

Stop with the lies. Conor got off fighting much smaller competition at 145 (when he walks around at 170-172) and fought a guy in Diaz who fights at 155 (fought RDA at 160). Yes, Diaz is bigger, but the idea that there was some huge weight advantage here is overblown. Conor simply fought a guy who was actually similar to him in size and lost. Let it go.
