Sure makes ggg look like Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor...
The middleweight champ Alvarez should fight Golovkin at the middleweight limit first, then we can worry about Golovkin and moving up to fight the Degales of the world.
WOW. The amount of ignorance on here is astounding.
If you look at what Conor is doing in the sport of MMA, it's amazing. He almost cleaned out 145lbs (featherweight), he fought and beat Aldo who was the champ and the best p4p fighter in the WORLD, undefeated for a decade. He knocked him out in under 30seconds. He finished Chad Mendes (albeit short camp) who was ranked 2nd/3rd and had only really lost against Aldo.
He then planned on going up and fighting THE BEST at 155lbs in Rafael Dos Anjos (LW Champ). How can you not respect that? Dos Anjos got hurt like 11 days before the fight was schedule to take place. Conor said i'll fight anyone to Dana. Dana contacted Aldo, Edgar who were both unable to take the fight and then he contacted Diaz who wanted a certain weight, Conor said **** it fight at 170lbs make it easier for yourself. How can you not respect that? How many fighters would do that? His last fight before this was at 145lbs lol.
Conor is making more money than anyone in combat sports outside of Mayweather/Pac. He is making at least $10mill for this fight and that's not including all of his PPV money.
He was mouthy but that's what got him there, thats what got everyone excited. Aldo, Mendes and Diaz all earned career high paydays because of him.
McGregor is not a Featherweight. He comes in on every weigh in looking like an unhealthy skeletor, and is among the bulkiest Featherweights in general....SUSPECT
Lightweight? Not even tested yet...
Then, instead of fighting the next best Lightweight after Dos Anhos pulled, he convinces Dana White (given the time frame) he will try his luck against a top 10 Diaz because all of a sudden making the 170 limit is more practical??!!
Conor showed he had no power at Welterweight. He can now only challenge himself at Lightweight. Now every top 5 UFC Lightweight is going to be more ruthless against him because of his loss against Diaz. McGregor's reign is over.
But of course, as Conor stated, he will now just focus to defend his title at Featherweight making ''big heavyweight checks.''
He slowed up real quick once Diaz started to land on him.
Boxing is the same, but I wonder if you're right about the weight.
I can see Khan making the same mistake against Canelo.
It's like when we see heavyweights come in fat. They have that luxury because they don't have to make weight. Conor didn't focus on weight cutting because he didn't have to. Totally neglected what his own prime fighting weight is, when he is sharpest/quickest and strongest.
When I saw him on the scales I thought about it. I wasn't worried at the time, but I wondered why the hell he came in so heavy.
