Trout was 171 defending his WBA against Nelo.

Funny how the word coward or unfair was never used with them.

And tell me what true middle weight has he dragged down in weight. Cotto?
Because he's fought nothing but Jr. MW'S and simply made them go 1 pound over.

    But you're not bias right?
I remember lucas gained 20 lbs recently

      They all do it.
It is only a problem when fans don't like a particular fighter and they need a reason to hate on him.

He's demanding 155 for his mando/unification, while outweighing his opponent fight night. None of those guys did that. Nobody ever has before.

If you have to lose and then gain 20lbs + of water and regain that in 24 hours it's not good for you.

The bodies not like a petrol tank it takes time and nutrients and energy to get that water into the right places in different cells etc.

If Canelo fights at 180 that means he was severely dehydrated just 24 hrs earlier at the weigh and the effects of that can linger for days even weeks.
that, combined with turning pro so early, is going to cost canelo years from the end of his career. don't be surprised if he's washed up before he's 30

Cotto did the same thing. Demanded his opponents to come to the weight he chose. Pacquiao , Mayweather did the same. It's called being the A side.
And no one forces the guys to accept the contracted weight. That's why there are negotiations and give and take.

You however only point this out in Canelo because you don't like him.

Cotto was a midget at MW, didn't outweigh his MW opponents, and fought them at 159 and 157, much better than 155. Ditto those other guys, tiny at the weight and much less severe CWs. There's no defending Canelo demand, just stop

Terrence Crawford weighed 152lbs against Gamboa for a fight at 135.

Maidana weighed 165lbs against Mayweather for a fight at 147.

Trout weighed 170+ against Canelo for a fight at 154.

A common practice in boxing that only becomes a problem when it's someone you dislike.

Or when such a drainer demands lowest CW possible as a mando defense and unification. It's fcuking shameful

Hard to argue with someone who is clearly bias.

As stated multiple times by different people, all fighter put on weight on fight night. All fighters negotiste to their advantage. It's never a problem for the fighters you like, only the ones you dislike.
