Rather than go with the nonsense projection from Duva, Michel and his camp looked at things, and believed that they could likely get 300k-350k PPV buys if both networks were utilized, a far more realistic projection.
    That's a pile of bull****.

Duva and Michel negotiated terms for the fight that Michel was happy with. He didn't mention Showtime at that stage because he knew full well that Kovalev's HBO exclusive contract would not allow for it.

Showtime only came up after Michel took the deal he'd worked out to Haymon and Superduck for their approval. Superduck never wanted to fight Kovalev and bringing Showtime into the picture was his way out. Again.

Supposedly he ran away because he wanted the "big fights" like Pascal and BHop, but Kovalev fought those guys lol.
Those fights had practically zero issues to discuss about. Zero. Both fighters can fight on either network. But I'm extremely pissed Chickenson ducked Pascal. Montreal fans were pissed. The guy is a disgrace.

PBC kind of dropped the ball here. After featuring Wilder on Showtime they should have continued to build him up on that channel and then had the payoff for the audience of a big, important fight against Povetkin.

Instead they put him on NBC, moved him back to Showtime, then completely lost the tv rights for his big title defence altogether.

Any casual fans who might be trying to follow his career probably got lost along the way. Just due to not being sure of where and when to tune in to watch him.

Remember when Duckavlevs promoter petitioned the WBC for a #1 ranking, then ran from the purse bid?

slow you're roll a little bit. I think Kov is the better fighter and would beat Stevenson, but in the name of fairness, if you're gonna call what Stevenson did a duck, then you must also call what Duva/Kov did a duck also. Can't have it both ways

I remember how Haymon/Gym petitioned for an immediate purse bid instead of waiting for the WBC to order it, and forced Duva to withdraw, yeah.

Duva remembered it too. She played the same trick herself to get Tyson Fury stripped of the IBF belt so Glazkov could fight for the vacant title instead going up against Fury.

That didn't work out how she hoped it would though.

So she put her fighter in a position to be the mandatory, then was forced to withdraw? Please explain............

This is the way it should be, this was the old format and a better format in which Networks could put in a bid. I liked this format better! Shouldn't ***ing matter who is the manager of who and who promotes who

You can't project out the fighters splitting $9m-$10m, only to then turn around, when it actually comes time to put down money, and only guarantee $4m to the fighters, especially when the entire effort calls for one side of the promotion simply sitting down and keeping quiet.

Yvon Michel, in information that was hotly debated on this very site, laid out his case rather plainly. For you to now and try to ignore that is pretty funny.
