Taking in consderation this (fight in Russia) and the low rankings Shosports had in the last bouts, I would pick HBO for Wilder to get the exposure he needs.
Better chance the fight happens if it's on Showtime.
Remember when Quillin got "advised" to vacate the title rather than fight his mandatory on a rival promoter's show on HBO?

Remember when Chickenson was "advised" that he should only fight Kovalev if both HBO and Showtime screened it?

I don't care what network the fight is on. I would strongly advise Wilder NOT to sign any network exclusive deal to put the fight on a given network. He has a real chance to be the unified HWT champ. Being a network free agent will maximize his earning potential if he does become champ.

I remember when there were no obstacles standing in the way of that fight being made and Stevenson ran in the opposite direction.
Supposedly he ran away because he wanted the "big fights" like Pascal and BHop, but Kovalev fought those guys lol.

Exactly, this is how Boxing Scene works. I doubt HBO takes the fight because they have budget issues and it'll only be a one-off.

It will be PPV so if they can guarantee enough buys that would off-set any budget issues. I think the venue and time will play a part in any decision and how high they go paying for the rights. If it's in Moscow at 10pm then what does that clash with in America on a Saturday at 2pm? I'm from the U.K and that would be like putting a PPV event on in the U.K when all the Premier League football teams are playing....it wouldn't happen pretty much, never has
