While I hear you, this is a new era with a lot more insight to the long term of effects of boxing. I'm all for the knockout, matter of fact the need for salts to wake a mofo up excites me but i'm also cognizant that every punch gets you closer to long term damage. I can't begrudge anyone treating sport like a businessman treats business, nobody starts out as CEO on day one but you earn that right and once you get there you have the hardest job in keeping it but also the benefits afforded to you by working your way to that spot. Floyd used those benefits to make a ton of money with as much nominal risk (considering its boxing..that's not saying much) but he didn't get lazy and just settled he stayed in the gym and stayed on his game. I personally do think he avoided Paul Williams tho, as much as I respect Floyd, paul was really all wrong for his fighting style.

OK, this is a precise summary of the situation... And I respect Floyd too, he's super talented and disciplined. And this is the exact thing why I'm a bit disappointed in his carrier. He didn't go to his limits. We didn't see his big fights. The fights where he has to fight at the edge.

I'm assuming this must be a joke because the only way Floyd would even have a chance of beating Golovkin is if he is weight-drained...meaning the fight would have to be LOWER than 154. Floyd won't go anywhere near a weight Golovkin is comfortable at.

You are a dreamer if you think that Golovkin can make 154 and be healthy.

He would obviously not be the same fighter at 154.

LOL people seem to forget that. Carlos Quintana who was KO'd by Andre Berto beat the guy Floyd was supposedly ducking? These guys lose all type of sense and logic when it comes to Floyd Mayweather.

Funny because i'm pretty sure I can find posts by AFT mentioning styles make fights...yeah Paul's been wrecked...but the one intangible there is "by guys who took the inside fight to him". FLOYD IS NOT AN INSIDE FIGHTER! I will say it again PAUL WILLIAMS SIZE WOULD'VE BEEN A PROBLEM FOR FLOYD...like it or not that is my opinion and that of many others who don't get romanced by a fighters skills, every style has a neutralizer.

Floyd has shown many times he has the ability to fight inside lol. Just because he fought Pacquiao on the outside does not mean he fought his whole career that way.

The one time in the past 9 years Floyd fought on the inside was against Maidana in the first fight...9 years. Why? Because that's how he ends up hurting his hands. I guarantee you Quintana also punches harder than Floyd and that's not a shot at Floyd but the shell has two holes...the overhand right which we've seen landed on Floyd quite a bit in later years and requires you aren't at a reach disadvantage. Go watch some 70's footage of fighters who've used it and play close attention.
