what makes you say that? did you watch the videos? if not then why wouldn't you consider him slick... i am cool with that but give me a few pointers. some analysis. "Yes or no... or hell no" don't open up much room for debate.

videos i posted in the opening disprove what you just said. or at least i feel that they do. If you watched those videos and still think he doesn't have good upper body or head movement then let me know.

I think it would be even harder to land on him if he was a purely defensive fighter like Floyd.

That's why i also think that no one from 160 and lower can beat GGG. in order to beat him i think you need to be stronger than him. physically try and push him around into close quarters and **** it out.

        agree or disagree?
he definitely has good defense for his style but he isnt what you'd call slick...he gets hit clean too often and blocks shots, he hardly ever slips shots or rolls them

plus look at the calibre of fighters the videos show....We can say he is slick when he beats an elite opponent and doesnt get hit at a high %

He is incredibly slick and skilled when he's focused. But he likes to take chances and go for the knockout. When you do that, you will get hit, but even then he's still tough to hit clean.

He's not what I would describe as slick. For me, a slick fighter makes his opponent miss with upper body movement while in the pocket. Golovkin doesn't do that.

he does some of that but not a whole lot because he is the aggressor who backs people up and controls range, but there are a few instances in the first video where he makes people miss with head movement, jab perry and shoulder roll. Maybe this is something we will see more when he fights a more elite fighter/name and he has to dig deeper into those skills.

I wouldn't call him a slick fighter, but he can utilize slick maneuvers to set up his offense.

i dont think the style is slick, but the way he executes his style is slick. He has underrated head movement, he shoulder rolls, he parries the jab, great movement etc. As a come forward pressure fighter its hard to give the impression of being slick. If Canelo fight happens it would be interesting to see some of these skills used against an elite fighter.

                      I watched the videos:

                      1. The first thing people would point out is the level of competition. Anybody can look amazing against weak comp.

                      2. He doesn't stand in the pocket and slip and roll punches using his upper body. The majority of the time (especially in the vids you posted) you see him coming forward and using his footwork as a way to close off the ring, not to set traps.

                      3. His defense is good (especially in the vids) but again, level of comp speaks volumes and he is getting tagged quite a bit, which I expect because of his stalker offensive game. He'll walk through shots rather than try to avoid them completely because he knows his opponent doesn't have the power to make him respect his game. A slick boxer wouldn't even allow a job to try and find its mark.

This reminds me similarly of Lara (I'm not saying GGG and Lara have a similar game) with the confusion on what his slick. Lara uses his feet for defense WAY more than his upper body. When he is in the pocket, he'll absorb the punches and then back up and make sure he is out of the punching range.

Sure, they'll be occasions where they'll make you miss and hit you with a sweet counter, but I wouldn't associate the term "Slick" with GGG based on what I have seen from him.
