Yeah, just like nobody bought tickets to see Mayweather v Pacquiao.
It may not be May v Pac but it was still an anticipated, interesting match-up to the non-jaded boxing fan.
It definitely wasn't cancelled because of lack of interest. I don't know what hole you're pulling that one out of. It was as close to a 50/50 fight as you get with two Haymon fighters.
Some people will complain about anything. If you don't like the fight simply because it involves two welterweights you are no more than a casual boxing fan. I guess Leonard v Duran was a pointless fight too huh? How about Ross v Armstrong? Chavez v Whitaker? De La Hoya v Trinidad? Pac v Cotto? Pac v Marquez? Gatti v Ward? etc etc etc
