Even Lampley and Kellerman disagree with you on that front. Plus, watch the fight. Does that look like a past-prime fighter? That guy was in his prime.

He wasn't past prime but he wasn't at his pinnacle either. Regardless, it was a very good win that people overlook because they hate cotto.

Sergio had to lose more than an extra pound. If one pound drains a lot out of a boxer, I can just imagine if it's more than one. Poor Sergio.

No he wasn't and your only claim that he was in his prime was an overated win at the time to reboot his career but knowing what we know now about Margarito it looks like he was a fraud aided by bricks in his gloves and just a below avg fighter without them that Mosley upset. Mosley was not completely washed up he was still dangerous when cotto fought but saying he was still in his prime is laughable. Its like saying floyd beat oscar in his prime no he didnt. Oscar was not washed up like the version Manny beat but he damn sure wasnt prime Oscar. You can make your point about cotto without lying and rewriting history.

To insinuate that Mosley was at the same stage vs Cotto as Oscar was vs Floyd makes no sense to me. Perhaps you need to re-watch the fight.

Shut up with this prime garbage. People use that word so loosely in these forums. Winkey/Forest both had Shanes number. Doesn't mean hes "passed prime". He had back to back wins over Vargas right after. If Cotto steamed rolled Shane then I could say Shane's good days are over but he looked damn good in the fight. He even beat Margarita in high fashion after the loss to Cotto to become champion again.

Your right because oscar was still a world champ when Floyd fought him while Mosley was almost 4 years removed from world champ and just exposed for being on steroids early his career when cotto fought him. You need to rewatch that fight then see what late 90s early 2000s undefeated number 1 p4p Mosley looked like not older slower, not on roids late 2000s Mosley looked like. He was NOT in his prime. Not world champ and not on anyone's top 10 p4p ranking heading into that fight. Upsetting a flawed Margarito got him back on p4p rankings for the first time in half a decade. But again looking back everyone overated that win due to Margarito looking so bad without hand wraps.

It was his shot knees. He had no legs. Went to the ring in a wheelchair.

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Dude you know nothing about boxing vargas was washed up when Mosley beat him. Busted for steroids over weight and long layoff due to steroid suspension and back injuries. Vargas wasn't even a ranked fighter at that time and so far from his prime it's laughable he retired one fight after Mosley for a reason. And for the last time Mosley win over Margarito says more about what he looks like when he's not cheating then it does Mosley. Either you too young to have watch Mosley or you just an idiot to keep saying he was in his prime for the cotto fight
