Thurman didn't want the fight, never did. He knows that Porter isn't 45 years old and will rough house his ass all over the ring.

Just go on a hiking trip in Yosemite or spend some time harvesting weed in Humbolt, or teach flute playing to immigrant children. You don't want that tough work, you ain't cut out for it.

Fight makes less money but less is better then nothing. And I don't think for a minute the plug being pulled is because of Showtime they have aired much worse cards. Likely it's Mohegan Sun, CBS ect that didn't want to continue on.
like any promoter with common sense, Im sure Haymon carries event cancellation insurance, which reimburses you for any expenses you paid in regards to the show (advertising, press conference expenses, etc). Obviously it doesnt cover potential lost profit, but Haymon wont actually "lose" money on the deal.....

Thurman gets the big head from Guerrero and indigestion from Collazo. Now he gets KO'd by an airbag. Hmmmm.

This is is not a good look for Thurman! He lost the media war because he took so long to respond and accept the fight. Now you're in a car accident a month away from fight night. It SEEMS as if he doesn't want this fight. If i'm Porter, **** Thurman, give me Danny Garcia ASAP! Let Thurman be the one to FIND an opponent.

Again it doesn't have to be equal competition see how the UFC just handled this. But grabbing an avg to decent fighter so you can keep Porter in the main event and now it's more of a showcase stay busy fight but that's better then no main event so you have to cancel the entire card and give full refunds and potentially damage relationships with networks and venues. I'm sure Mohegan Sun isn't happy about giving refunds and now having no event that night when they likely could of booked a concert or something else that night. Haymon has tons of fighters at 147 and was able to get Porter a last minute replacement in 1 week time when the guy pulled out just last year on the Spike card.

Slow ticket sales fake injury fight called off total BS

Little fan interest at the gate had Porter/Thurman called off. Fake injury always does it nicely. Total BS. Thurman talks too much anyway for a midget with a horse tail pony cut munchkin. Short Port loses on this fake injury crap.

This is amateur hour lol. Cancel an entire show?

Why not just have Gary Russell Jr. (The WBC champ) headline the card? Oh wait I forgot, they barely built him up! He was on an undercard against Gonzalez and then I haven't heard from him since. I don't know if he's fought since then.

How about Montiel and Mares? Nope, didn't build those guys up either.

I wouldn't doubt if the fight wasn't selling many tickets but I don't think that would stop Haymon and make him fake an injury and blow up an entire event. There have been tons of PBC fights that sold little to no tickets and they still go on with the show so why would this be any different? Plus when the news broke of the injury all the immediate leaked info was that they were trying to restructure this to a solo Showtime card and even Dibella said they were trying to keep the card why leak that info and go through all that if it was planned? If the injury was faked it only benefits one man and that's Thurman to either pull out the fight all together or get extra time to prepare for the fight.
