Porter gets NOTHING now. I'm sure Porter would be fine getting half the check for a stay busy fight and then getting the Thurman fight afterwards rather then going a full year without fighting. And whether he likes it or not Haymon is calling the shots. Perfect case Broner's contract with Maidana had a immediate rematch clause which he said publicly he would enforce. Then all a sudden Floyd wanted to fight Maidana and Broner said too bad I got a contract you have to wait I'm fighting him first. Then Haymon had a "talk" with Broner and the rematch clause disappeared. These are Haymon in house fighters on a in house event and if he wants Porter to have an interim fight to keep the card alive he could of done that.

Porter still gets his $1.5m, it's just going to be delayed by a month or so; Thurman's injuries aren't rumored to be super serious. Pretty sure Porter is cool with that.

Broner's case was different; Maidana's performance launched him into a mega fight against Floyd. Rather than "enforce his rematch", Broner got an opportunity to feature on Floyd's card, put $1.25m into his pocket for a so-so fight, that also led him into being featured for his next 3 fights.

Broner looked at the opportunities that were put in front of him, and made a decision; fight Maidana again for $1m, in another tough fight, or take what amounted to $4m over 3 winnable fights (before stepping in with Shawn Porter).
