Arum wants to sell **** fights and HBO is not buying especially at the rate they pay. Let Arum walk and lets see where he is going to get that kind of money

Even haymon is now working with pretty much anybody even GBP and HBO as we are seeing with the khan canelo bout and even the GGG fight.

The reason I ask this tho is Arum made it clear that he doesnt like how HBO tries to run a monopoly which is surprising to say the least with the haymon litigation and their partnership over the years and what not. It makes me wonder if top rank is about to cross the street again and start working with showtime or maybe another network as well.

In my opinion if top rank starts using hbo and showtime its better for boxing. When you have competing networks trying to out bid the other bigger fights seem to be made. it would also open up more avenues for his fighters and chances for fighters like crawford to fight guys he cant now.

This thread doesnt have a specific question just wanted to start a dialogue about how it seems like all the networks/promoters/managers are at a breaking point and something has to give as far as them working together. It seems like they all tried to goto hbo and blackball haymon but they are realizing their is not enough air time, money, or even top level fighters to truly work with hbo alone.

What do you guys think do you sense maybe some good things breaking soon? Or do you think the litigation against PBC and such is just to much to overcome and the the norm will continue?
Showtime doesn't want to work with Arum, especially after he ****ed them on their believed Pacquiao deal; to assume that that is an option for Top Rank doesn't jive with reality.

Bob Arum made his bed; **** on everyone else, and stick to his status as "house promoter" for HBO and the Spanish-language channel that he also puts his fights on.

Now, with HBO now opening doors to Golden Boy, K2, Main Events, and other outfits, the squeeze is on, with the new HBO head having no outright deference to Arum.

I'm all for the networks taking a stance and demanding the best fights possible from promoters and if the networks stand strong they'll win, and so will we.

Haymon's plan to leave everyone that wasn't aligned with him fighting for scraps on HBO's shrinking island appears to be working well.
          Doe, it's not just Arum.

Haymon has been letting his fighters fight on HBO. Showtime hasn't been making fights on a regular basis.

The sport is becoming a desert. It's drying up.

Arum is 100% "Take My Ball And Go Home" type of guy especially if he doesn't get what he wants
But Top Rank don't need HBO money because Arum is the new King of Macau, doe.

April 9th will have some big implications for Top Rank's future.

With this being perhaps the last Pacquiao stage Top Rank will have, they need a good showing on the undercard from Gilberto Ramirez, Oscar Valdez and Jose Carlos Ramirez.

I agree. Very smart of Bob to pony up the extra dough to get Ramirez/Abraham on the undercard.

If Khan or Wade lose, it doesn't hurt Haymon much. If they win, it hurts HBO big time.

                    Calculated risk.

This is the crux of Arum's problem - he actually has to *compete* with rival promoters for HBO's dollar. Who'd have thought such a thing?

                      LOL.
