i don't know why people said he was exciting. even in his "great" performances like against lacy it was full of clinches. flurry-clinch-flurry-clinch

I agree it was close but there's no denying Cazlaghe won. He was levels above Bika here.

sounds just like hatton's epic win of kostya.

i think people confuse crowd reaction for exciting fight. in calzaghe lacy the crowd was going nuts but that fight had no flow at all. calzaghe would flurry and then smother and clinch. ref would reset them. calzaghe would flurry and then smother and clinch. ref would reset them. repeat for 12 rounds. how can something be exciting when you know exactly what's going to happen after 5 minutes?

sure you can deny it. that's the whole point of the thread. if he was levels above he would have separated himself from bika but he got worse as the fight went along and bika got better.

IMO Calzaghe arguably lost to Bika, Reid and Hopkins.

The guy had an up and down war with Byron Mitchell for crying out loud.

Why anyone would rate him highly is beyond me.

There's nothing to deny, Calzaghe won, most people felt he won but also felt it was close.

i'd watch hatton and calzaghe fights and get frustrated at not understanding what the hell our brothers from across the pond were so high on.

i used to get into so many wars with those hatton / calzaghe fans back in the day lol.
