Don't be naive. This ban on summer Olympics team is a purely political hand-twisting. The reply to Russia bombing out Turkey-supported "rebels", who were supposed to overthrow Asad. Russian athletes are doing roids no more and no less than everybody else (including Americans). They'll give Haymon/Wilder what they want and use the RUSADA as spin. Although they'll be correct in doing so. Russia's whole Summer Olympic team may be banned from the Summer Games. I think it's perfectly reasonable for Wilder not to fight in Russia. Promoters are being beat up, former RUSADA officials are dying suddenly.Comment

Most Russian Olympic Athletes Are Doping, Positive Tests Covered Up, Says German TV
Up to “99 percent” of Russian Olympic athletes are doping and the Russian Athletics Federation (RAF) and the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) are covering up positive tests, according to a new investigative documentary.

Athletics doping: WADA commission wants Russia ban
Recommended that Wada withdraw its accreditation of the Moscow laboratory as soon as possible and advocated the permanent removal of its director Grigory Rodchenko, whom it accuses of asking for and accepting bribes and intentionally destroying samples he was told to keep.
Found that a number of Russian athletes suspected of doping could have been prevented from competing at the London 2012 Olympics had it not been for "the collective and inexplicable laissez-faire policy" adopted by the IAAF and the Russian athletics federation.

The state of global boxing, especially in the US, is FAR worse than the state of the IAAF and the Olympics. There is a laughable amount of oversight in professional boxing, particularly with US Boxing Commissions, and ESPECIALLY in the area of drug testing. The only reason this Russia story is so prevalent, is because there was supposed to be a respectable hierarchy of oversight in athletics, which simply doesn't exist in Boxing. Most Russian Olympic Athletes Are Doping, Positive Tests Covered Up, Says German TV

Global professional boxing is just as dirty, if not more, than Russian athletics..Comment

They are not equivalent in the least. Saying it or wishing it was true doesn't make it so. You can't point to any examples of corruption to that extent in any drug testing body in the United States.
Russia is so bad that even Wladimir Klitschko threatened to cancel the Povetkin fight if he had to undergo testing through RUSADA.Comment

Because there's no oversight on the same level. Who's there to watch over it (in regards to USADA?). In fact, it's not even a requirement that its used, with US boxing Commissions who have next to no oversight at all, being the main determinant in these cases. I believe Marquez was tested directly by one of these commissions, in the Bradley fight. It's not even the US i'm specifically aiming at, it's professional boxing as a whole. They are not equivalent in the least. Saying it or wishing it was true doesn't make it so. Athletics is governed by a singular world body, with big funding going into the relationship between state doping bodies/WADA and the IAAF (sadly corrupted), and the competing states. It's completely different to a private, promoter/individual sport like boxing, with at least 4 major world bodies, a **** ton of athletic commissions and a myriad of testing commissions, where it's not so hard to pick and choose the safest route. Now if we were talking about Olympic boxing, that'd be totally different and very comparable. It's just not logical, at all, to argue that because Russian athletics is beyond a joke, that its the dirtiest place for all sports. It has a fair few challengers in pro boxing, believe me..Comment

USADA has to be WADA-compliant just as RUSADA does. The fact is that one of these drug testing organizations is in good standing in regards to those requirements while the other one is far from it.
There is absolutely no equivalence between the two when it comes to following the rules that are in place.Comment

and strangely enough, it wasn't WADA that caught any of the scandal going on, it was ARD - a perfect manoeuvre on their part coming alongside numerous scandals within FIFA, and a huge anti-Russian sentiment in the current political arena.USADA has to be WADA-compliant just as RUSADA does. I hope something similar uncovers the murky corrupt world of professional boxing, in all its guises and variations, soon enough.Comment
