They should lose respect for Canelo If he doesn't have the balls to fight him, Canelo has done everything in his power to avoid this one like the ginger coward he is.

Golovkin should agree to 155 and see what happens. If Canelo still doesn't fight him after that then he deserves to lose respect.

That is his weight class and he's the star. Golovkin can fritter away his remaining few boxing year crushing cans if he's afraid to seek greater things.
As a mandatory, GGG's % of the total purse is set in stone so there is no "star money."

Im Mexican, born in Guadalajara, Mexico. In spanish for proof, soy mexicano nacido en Guadalajara, Mexico. And I'm ashamed of Canelo, he is a goddamn coward. People here locally make fun of him and are calling him a low life chicken, everybody here in Mexico recognizes he is scared of Gennady. Uorale!

How can those issues be "irrelevant" when they stopped MayPac from happening for years. They are as big of issues as the fighters let them be.

It's called posturing. People do it when they're negotiating.

They're just throwing a number out there knowing that GGG probably won't accept while trying to feel him out.

I say GGG/Canelo happens at 156 or 157. Thats just me though.

Historically, Mexican fighters are under a lot more scrutiny from their fans. I don't think he's "lost" any respect from his fans. But talking boxing with some of my uncles in Tijuana this weekend, they were quick to hate on Alvarez-Khan.

Granted, my uncles are way too Mexican for their own good and they only follow Canelo. As such, they're really expected GGG-Canelo to go down after listening to Alvarez' post-fight comments after the Cotto fight. Raza can definitely be demanding.

All that catchweight talk doesn't help much (IMO). This title at stake represents one of boxing's glamour divisions. Requiring a catchweight only cheapens this bout's significance. It's not as if GGG holds any significant physical advantage over Canelo.

I'm not out of line in holding Canelo to a higher standard. As a Mexican fighter it's what's expected of you. Make the fight at 160. Screw the catchweight. If Chavez-Whitaker taught us anything, it's that catchweights can come back and bite you in the ass.

No. I don't think you know how super-fights are made.

Canelo has taken on the toughest fights and the guy should be getting respect from anyone not just Mexican fans.
He's gonna fight GGG in September. Until proven wrong, lets not ask hypothetical questions.
